Quote: Clark Kent is Superman's critique on the whole human race
Thank you Bonez for letting me into your mentorship and making me AMM.
“If I was any figure in Mythology: I'd be a Muse, because I hold no great anger or crave power. I enjoy the pleasures that both inspire and reward. The things that feed my mind are words: Both dramatic and Comedic, for laughter is good for the soul. Science is also a inspiring thing: Seeing the way the world works is just as beautiful as anything magic and unexplained. Knowing how the sun sets, or a rainbow forming in the sky, doesn't diminish it's beauty.
My namesake is the Muse of Epic Poetry: Think poems such as Homer's wonderful 'Iliad' and 'The Odyssey', which is a wonderful tale.. Calliope/Kalliopē means"beautiful-voiced". Her grace and voice was said to have seduced Olympian God of war Ares.
There are nine Muses. They are the daughters of Zeus and they are inspiration for Art and science;
Calliope : Epic poetry
Clio: History Scrolls
Erato: Love poetry
Euterpe: Song and Elegiac poetry
Melpomene: Tragedy
Polyhymnia: Hymns
Terpsichore: Dance
Thalia: Comedy
Urania: Astronomy
Superman didn't become Superman. Superman was born Superman. When Superman wakes up in the morning, he's Superman. His alter ego is Clark Kent. His outfit with the big red "S", that's the blanket he was wrapped in as a baby when the Kents found him. Those are his clothes. What Kent wears - the glasses, the business suit - that's the costume. That's the costume Superman wears to blend in with us. Clark Kent is how Superman views us. And what are the characteristics of Clark Kent. He's weak... he's unsure of himself... he's a coward. Clark Kent is Superman's critique on the whole human race.”
― Quentin Tarantino
The Comics, tv, films and fictions of today are the Myths that are the reflections of our society. Superman, Batman, Buffy, The cast of Heroes etc are the basis of our contemporary heroes. I am also fond of Mythology: Norse/Greek/Roman. Achilles, Perseus, Jason are the Heroes of their own time also. Each hero represents what each culture considers the 'best of ourselves'. I am intrigued by the Powerful Deities that are affiliated with each Country. Each one had their own frailties, powers and position - Those that wrote about them saw them as both perfect and imperfect.
Many thanks to Bonez for this awesome stamp
