Today I completed the following site updates:
Profiles
You can now search through Profiles based on Profiles you have not yet rated.
Portfolios
You can now search through Portfolios based on Portfolios you have not yet rated.
News
Fixed a bug in the News system. Complete dates are now displayed.
User Log In
Added a username lockout system. If a user tries to unsuccessfully log into an account more than 3 times, that account is locked for 10 minutes. This code will help prevent brute password guessing attempts.
The Top
Fixed a bug where rankings were being improperly displayed for top women and men profiles.
Journals
Fixed a bug where time stamps were sometimes null for journal entries. |
There are multiple solution sets for the Quadrivium contest. However, only one set is the correct set that will win the contest.
If you manage to solve the grid with a non-winning solution, message Cancer your answer. It will earn you a set of hints that will help in solving the grid correctly. |
On Friday August 5th at 12pm EST (-5 GMT) 2 new Vampire Rave contests will begin and run in parallel. The winner of each contest will be awarded a Vampire Rave Annual Premium Membership. This contest is being sponsored by Empress. The contest rules are as follow:
You must be at least level 3 (Shadow) to play.
You may only win 1 of the 2 contests.
If you win and are a Lifetime Premium Member, you may gift your prize to another member.
Everyone is eligible for this contest, including Administrators and even Empress. I am the only one that knows the contest details and solutions.
The contest will begin at 12pm EST. Look for new links in the lower left hand column of any Vampire Rave page.
Tonight I completed the following site updates:
Vamp Box
Made blank posts impossible.
If you click on the nick of someone who has posted, it links to their Profile page.
Truncated the rolling history log to 12 hours.
Reduced the font size in the left hand column. It's not small enough. VR usernames can be up to 30 characters in length. Members with long names are screwing up the display.. I am going to have to create a fix that chops names that are too long.

Polls were temporarily removed until I can create a better polling system. |

Who's Online
The Who's Online page is now computed in real time. Stats have been re-worked a bit, total unique visitors are recorded (for 1 and 24 hours) instead of member log ins.
Message Center
Message notification has be re-coded and optimized.
Fixed a bug where some users weren't hearing the message notification sound.
Vamp Box

The Top
The Top page is now computed in real time. All statistics are current upon viewing.
Journals
Re-coded the entire main Journals page. It's optimized and loads much faster.
New sorting options added: Most Viewed and On the most Favorite Lists.
Page can be listed in ascending or descending order.
All data is now listed in real time.
The Sun
Fixed up The Sun window in the left hand column and put it back in.
Premium Features
Re-coded the Who has Rated you page.
Results can be returned in ascending or descending order.
Pages are broken down into 100 rating blocks.
Message Center
Fixed a bug where old messages were not being deleted. If your inbox just got a bit lighter, it's because messages older than 30 days were finally deleted. Saved messages are never auto-deleted.
I am very happy with the changes I have managed to institute over the past 2 days. Server load has been reduced by over 400%. |
