50% is based upon your Time Spent
50% is based upon your Pages Viewed
These two statistics form your Base Score. Bonuses and Penalties are then applied to your Base Score, forming your Total Score. Your Total Score is your Vampire Rave Status Level.
This is your bread and butter. This is the easy part to understand. Once you get to a good understanding about how the base score is computed, then we can move forward towards the bonuses and Penalties.
The Bonuses
Ratings
This Bonus can range from 0% to 5%. It takes into account the total number of things you have rated.
Once you are in a coven, this is one of the best ways to kill two birds with 1 stone. You gain favor for every rate that you give. You also gain .01 level per 40 rates. The rates can be either of profiles, portfolios, or database. When you reach 20,000 rates, you will have a 5% bonus to your base level.
Database
This Bonus can range from 0% to 10%. It takes into account the total number of entries you've added to the database.
This is what this site was created for, the Vampire Database. This is also why the bonus is for 10% rather than 5%. The equation to find out the bonus is simple.
Bonus = ( ( 10 * Number of Database Entries ) / 2000 ) * .01
Forum
This Bonus can range from 0% to 5%. It takes into account the total number of public forum posts you've made.
This bonus is specifically for main forum posts, not mentorship/ coven posts. It can be tough for some people, however an easy way to get forum posts is to play the games on the forums under 'The Sandbox", in the main forum. This is a part of the forum where some threads are simply replying a string of 4 words to continue a story. Other threads like to have you type a word that starts or ends with the next letter of the alphabet. Maybe you might see a thread that has words that rhyme.
2,000 posts is the magic number here, where you will receive the 5% bonus.
Profile
This Bonus can range from -3% to 3%. It is based on your Profile rating. If you have not set a Profile up, your Profile rating is zero and this Bonus will be -3%. Creating a Profile and getting it favorably rated is one of the quickest things your can do as a new member to increase your Total Score.
This is a tricky bonus. It is entirely based off of what other people have rated your profile. Your rating can also fluctuate at any given time, due to what people think. This is why it is important to start with a solid profile and continue updating, making sure that everything still looks good. There is a chart that places different bonuses to different brackets of ratings.
Profile Rating Profile Bonus
Less than 2.0 -3.00%
2.0 to less than 3.0 -2.50%
3.0 to less than 4.0 -2.00%
4.0 to less than 5.0 -1.50%
5.0 to less than 6.0 -1.00%
6.0 to less than 7.0 -0.50%
7.0 to less than 9.5 0.00%
9.5 to less than 9.6 0.50%
9.6 to less than 9.7 1.00%
9.7 to less than 9.8 1.50%
9.8 to less than 9.9 2.00%
9.9 to less than 9.95 2.50%
9.95 and above 3.00%
Journal
This Bonus can range from 0% to 3%. It takes into account how many members have marked your Journal as a favorite.
Along with a solid profile, you need a journal that you steadily contribute to. This will cause people to stay 'favorited' to your journal. If you don't have anything to write in a journal, well, hit up a forum then talk about that issue in a journal. Once you get 300 people to 'favorite' your journal, you will receive a 3% bonus. This means that every person that favors your journal will increase your level .01.
Friend
This Bonus can range from -3% to 3%. It takes into account how many friend lists you are on. It does NOT take into account how many members YOU have marked as a friend. Friend lists on the Dark Network are one-way in nature. If you mark someone as a friend they may or may not mark you as a friend in return. Due to this one-way relationship, the number of members who have marked you as a friend is directly correlated to how well you are liked on The Dark Network.
Friends are helpful to have. I have found that being friendly and helpful has taken me a lot farther than just ignoring those who are annoying. This bonus could also be a penalty. At 50 people friending you, you break even with 0% bonus. At 600 friends, you are at 3% bonus. The equation for this calculation is broken up into 2.
If you are on less than 50 Friend Lists:
Penalty = ( ( ( 3 * Friend Lists On ) / 50 ) -3 ) * .01
If you are on more than 50 Friend Lists:
Bonus = ( ( ( 3 * ( Friend Lists On - 50 ) ) / 550 ) * .01
Society
This is an all or nothing 1% bonus. If you are in a Vampire Rave Society and have posted to your Society Forum in the past 48 hours, you're awarded this bonus.
This is easy to keep once you are in a coven/ house. Post at least once every other day and you will maintain this 1% bonus.
Mark
This bonus can only have values of -10%, -5%, 0%, 5%, 10%, or 15%.
Mark of the Prince is worth 10%. I am still unclear as to how to obtain this mark. This mark is given out by Cancer only. I received it from buying a lifetime membership. However, my coven master, BLOODLIFE, has received the mark without buying a lifetime membership.
Mark of the Sire is worth 5%. This is awarded by your coven or house master. Usually given to the members of the coven admin for helping run the coven. Occasionally given to regular coven members for any number of reasons or none at all. This is completely at your CM's choice.
Mark of shame is worth -10%. This is a mark given only my Cancer, the dark prince. I have yet to pay attention to how many people have this mark. If you follow the VR Terms of Service than you should have nothing to worry about.
Mentor
This is an all or nothing 1% bonus. If a Dark Network Mentor is mentoring you, you're awarded this bonus.
You are maintaining this 1% bonus just by being in The Sagacious Souls.
Referral
One of the higher bonuses, this bonus can range from 0% to 15%. It takes into account how many members you've referred to The Dark Network.
This is from inviting other people to join VR. This can also be a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th profile of yours. You may have multiple profiles as long as you either keep them all premium members or own a lifetime membership, allowing you to have 3 free accounts.
Penalties
These are self explained. Don't piss people off and don't get offended too easily.
Blocked
This is a pure Penalty, as the value of this Penalty can only range from -3% to 0%. This penalty measures how many members have blocked you, and therefore, how much you are disliked.
Pissing people off will get you blocked.
Overblock
This is a pure Penalty. The value is either -10% or 0%. This penalty measures how many members you have blocked. If you have blocked more than 25 members you are assessed this penalty.
Getting offended too easily will help you blicking at least 25 people, causing this penalty.
