The dragon realm aligned itself with mankind early in our history. This realm took on the responsibility of guiding man and teaching him about the universe around him. The dragon is truly a cross cultural phenomena with connection to nearly every ancient civilization. Then about eight thousand years ago the dragons made a slow retreat back to whence they came. Due to an outside influence that was directing man away from the teachings that the dragons held sacred. Soon other mythical creatures followed in the retreat. While some cultures of man yearned to reconnect with the dragon, others eventually sought to brutally make the dragon realm into evil, monstrous, and abhorrent creatures of the dark. Partly because some where angered that the dragons left, but mainly because this "new" influence needed to defeat the wisdom of the dragon realm and secure their own influence over mankind.

Early during the time of exodus wizards, magicians, and other seers learn to keep connected to the dragon realm via astral and telepathy. The dragons understood that some still yearned for what they have to teach and did not break connection totally. The most common methods of connecting with the dragon realm are meditation, astral work, lucid dreaming, and vision quests.

If on your journeys you are fortunate enough to visit dragonkin, honor them greatly for they have honored you by allowing you into their realm. They have chosen you because something inside of you tells them of you sincerity to learn. Do not be disheartened if they seem reluctant, blocked, or maybe even arrogant. They are as old as time itself, and because man turned its backs on them once, it requires diligence and focus for them to "trust" again.
