A lot of people believe that reincarnation is a fact. They would like to know more about themselves and their past experience, because knowing the past is crucial for understanding the present. Not all answers can be found merely reflecting about the years spent this time around on Earth, so here are a few tips to start researching your past.
What you have to do first is write and think about certain aspects of your life. You don`t have to show it to anybody; it`s just for you to have a clearer view.
Write about:
_Unexplainable fears you have or had as a kid
_ Games you played when you were a kid
_Likes and dislikes in general (pay attention to movies and music)
_ What makes you cry
_Interest in a certain country/ language
_Interest in a time period
_ If you ever wanted to change your image, how you would like to be.
_What jobs you like/ liked as a kid.
_If you ever had dreams where you were not yourself as you are now, try to remember if those dreams affected you emotionally.
_Do you find a pattern in your answers?
Not necessarily all of your answers will find a reason in the past, but probably a few of them will.
Something else you can do in the beginning is to ask your parents about your childhood: did you ever said something out of the ordinary? Ever mention living in other countries? Did you know things you couldn`t have known from books or movies?
To finish this first stage, I recommend for you to read all you can about reincarnation. There are a lot of different theories, and the best is to find the one that convinces you more from the beginning. Reading other people`s experiences is also useful because it makes you get in the correct mood for remembering.
The second stage would consist of trying to get memories from past lives. Despite all of the ideas and hypothesis you might have about who you were/where you lived, without validations and memories you will never be sure. Sometimes not even with that you`ll be totally sure.
To start having memories you can try these things:
_Meditation: relax your body and then try some visualization techniques. For example: imagine that you`re in a room with many doors, and each door leads to a past life.
_Recorded past life regressions: there are some tapes with recorded guided regressions, they might work for you, or you can consider seeing a professional regressionist if you have the means for it.
_Automatic writing: take an item from the list you made in the first stage and write about it. Don`t think too much, then try to corroborate if what you wrote is something that happened historically.
From now on you will have to pay strong attention to your dreams.
How can you recognize a dream that might have past life elements? You might not look like you look now in those dreams. You may be in another time period and/or country. You might wake up with a strong emotion. When you wake up, regardless if you have had one of these dreams or not, it`s recommended to write what you dreamt in a journal. It will help you remember your dreams better. Every detail is important. If you notice that something in your dreams is out of the ordinary, try to investigate on the internet about it. For example, if you dream you`re wearing a military uniform, check online for different uniforms in different time periods. You may see that it matches the one in your dreams. If you corroborate something you dreamt you will have a nice validation and start making progress.
Past lives discovery is a very hard task and it takes a lot of time. Although it`s possible that when you start you may get some memories easily because everything you do will be a trigger. With time you will find that memories suface with more effort. Some events would be very hard to remember because there are mental blocks for it. Don`t get discouraged and know that this happens and try to overcome it.
Best of luck and I hope you found this article useful.
