Odds -n- Ends The 12 Hour Limit
Vampire Rave, along with all Dark Network sites, have a 12 hour per 24 hour period limit. This limit applies to your Status.
If you are logged into the Dark Network for longer than 12 hours, you will not continue to accrue Page Views and Time Spent that counts toward your Status. You can continue to browse Dark Network pages, but your stats won't increase until the daily clock resets.
This limit is not timed as a continuous log in. It's recorded on a 24 hour clock. 3 hours here, 6 hours there, etc.
If you hit this limit, you will be shown a warning message. At this point your Time Spent and Pages Viewed no longer counts until the daily clock resets. The 24 hour clock runs from 12am to 12am -0 GMT (London time).
If you're on the US east coast (-5 GMT), this means a user who has hit the limit can start accruing stats again at 7pm. This is when the daily clock is reset. The server does not adjust for Daylight Savings Time, so during DST, if you're in a DST region, you need to add an hour (8pm for the US east coast).
The 12 hour limit was put in effect to help thwart those who were trying to cheat the Status System. Many users were using automated programs to keep them logged in 24 hours per day. These users were wasting VR resources, bandwidth, cheating VR advertisers, falsely increasing their status, falsely increasing the Favor of their Society, and more. It is for these reasons the 12 hour limit exists.
If you *really* need to be logged into Vampire Rave or other Dark Network sites for more than 12 hours per day, and you need to accumulate Pages Viewed and Time Spent, you have the option of a second account. However, if you maintain 2 accounts you must follow the rule that all accounts be premium. |
