Over the weekend I took the neighbours kids to see, "SpongeBob" in 3D, with all the effects. Heh, they really enjoyed it..but guess who ended up being the Spongebob addict ;) haha
Do you ever have a need to be challenged? Well for me that happens pretty regularly, and I find it exciting with the "buzz" going on around my head.
My current project is setting up an Art Gallery dsplaying the work of local artists. It has mostly been good from the get-go a few days ago, and artists are already hanging up their exhibits! I will take some photos of this after I get back from vacation for my journal. Teehee , I might organise an official opening, any excuse for wine! haha
You SHOULD have an official opening; it gives the exhibit credibility.

Today I am feeling desolate, like a desert with no sand, like a river with no water, and a flower with no colour. It is ironic, because I know how lucky I am in getting away for a holiday..but you cannot beat the feelings. Maybe it is just a cloud that will pass in my fleeting day. I miss him.

I know I am not even attending and I don't want to sound antagonistic but wouldn't it of been fairer if Vampire Rave attendees could of decided if there was going to be no photography?
Personally, I think Allengre Travel could of taken a middle of the road stand in this and perhaps advertised:
It is preferred by the Management of the Meetup that photographs are not taken at any of the events.
Thats all, and in that way people could make their own decision on the subject.

My sister has given me the green room, I love this one best as you can hear the Mosque Crier at Sunrise. It reminds me of my younger days when I used to live out East with my ex-fiancee and worked in the airlines :)
It is 40C 'tho, I am sure I will melt on the first few days!

Vampire Rave is like any other society we live in, as each has it rules. As long as you live within the confines of those rules you will not come to any great harm. However, living by the rules doesn't mean you have to follow a set pattern of behaviour because as long as you are within the law, in principle it shouldn't really matter what your views are, or how you behold people. Each one of us, should be our own person and true to ourselves.
Sometimes, I think I would like to slap you up your-think-you-know-it all pretty face . A good cuff around the ears even for a skpper isn't amiss every now and then. Learn some humility for Chrissakes!
Someone brought it to my attention, well that there are a few on here who encourage people to have their own intelligent opinion, they say, "think for yourself"all that bull, and call people, "stupid, senseless, brainless" or some other charming description that comes out of a mouth so foul, BUT if you have an individual opinion that DOESN'T coincide with theirs, then all hell breaks loose! now aren't they just the real losers! That makes me laugh just as much as this silly 'toon below!
Today I got a letter which made me weep, and it hasn't stopped raining outside since. Maybe I should go light the fire, after all it is summer time in Ireland and I am in a bleak mood.
Over the past year on VR my *thing* has been visiting different Houses and Covens and it has been splendid to see a spectrum of different talented people use their creativity to such opposite diversities.
I have really enjoyed being a part of this and it has given me an understanding and an appreciation of the different skills, and background of our members in Vampire Rave. It has taught me the importance of reflecting on the differences of people, and the joy of it is that every society I visited is unique, with the leaders in most cases setting a culture of "family" thereby creating a sense of belonging.
Most Societies I visited have a supportive and understanding environment in which individuals realise their maximum potential and if they do not, most rise to meet the challenge.. or if not, are encouraged to do so.
It has been amazing for me to experience the diversity that encompasses differences in gender, ethnicity; language and age..thinking styles, such a wide array of diversities to have shared. Thankyou for your hospitality to the Houses, and Covens who had me as their guest :) It has been an experience!
Very cool comment. It's a good thing when people take the time to get to know and appreciate the differences. Like I teach my children in Kindergarten, what makes us different is what makes special. We all have something unique to bring to the table.
I was doing that too. Some get pissed when you leave their Coven and don't talk to you again, I have found. Arg! I'm like dude, I said I wasn't staying....*sigh*
Smooth drive

I got to drive the Dodge Avenger today, all day.. it really is a mean motoring machine..and what a smooth drive! I was lucky I got it on loan, but crap I hated being so close to the ground again!
Tomorrow my Jeep is being taken for it's second service in the first year on the road! I do extensive driving in my job and have managed to jam up 20,000 on the clock in one year!
It is being picked up at 8am *yawns* (it has been a busy week so far) and they will leave a curtesy car ~ it is going to feel so weird to drive a car again!!
I feel sick to my bones fretting about tomorrow. I am not infallible, and I am always conscious of my own inadequacies and lack of experience in a particular field of my profession. I am being audited for it tomorrow by a Fellow of my own Professional Institution.
It is 2.30pm or so, and I have realised that I am still in my nightwear - I am just that engrossed in study. Bleh, come this time to-morrow my brain will be fried, so I will look forward to coming home and having a good stiff brandy that I keep in the cupboard for medicinal purposes. It has not been touched in like two years!
You'll be fine girl. You fret too much over nothing much. You are always so very conscientious over your work, I can't imagine there being anything but a positive audit.

The conclusion to the current episode of Doctor Who was incredible! I really, really enjoyed it and I dig it that we get to see David Tennent again. He really is a superb actor :)
Dr. Who continues at Christmas 2008 with the return of the CyberMen! Roll on Xmas!
Today is ladies Wimbledon finals day, it will be a match we have seen time and time again with the two Williams sisters playing. I actually wonder if they make a "deal" over their breakfast cereal together!
I never got to see Silver today as one of the children I was taking with me got car sick and I had to abandon the notion of going so far. Well maybe next year - it has been a while since I have been in the US, so I'll maybe go for the real thing...who knows!
Tomorrow is going to be my first 4th of July celebration spent in Ireland! I am going to have an interactive part in the reinactment of the Civil War, take tea from a billy can at a confederate soldiers tent, dance the two time Polka, hear Blue Grass music, throw my legs up in a fiddle dance, see a Punch n' Judy show and pet, "Silver The Wonderhorse" etc, etc, etc!!
Y'all may do St. Paddy's day bigger over there..but hell we beat you at your own game on the 4th of July!! ;)
Well, I am hoping to get a ride on the back of Wonder Horse to celebrate Hawk!!

I am glad to see that the auction is proceeding so well, and with Umbrae Octo's generosity it may be possible to reach the $1,000 I was shooting for.
Having an auction is a first on Vampire Rave, and it has shown how popular they are, so in a way it has tested the water and created a new possibility for development.. Who knows, anything is possible here.
Master Vampire Sabastion has given us a pair of goblets he hand made with fine chain mail, and House Umbrae Octo is donating a Lifetime Premium Membership already at Sire Level Samantha :)
You're right Em, it does seem to be going very well. There are some fantastic people here who have given so much! It's terrific to see the generosity put forth for a good cause.
All kudo's to Cancer for his autograph on the tee-shirt, and allowing the auction to take place in the first place! Can you imagine what would happen if we auctioned a pair of his boxer shorts? giggles.. the girls here would go nutz for them haha!
Aww, thanks..but you know the big players in the Auction like Bones, Oceanne, Selene Tremere and Vampire Witch have just been incredible with their support for the cause, and way beyond all expectations!

Words are like a sorcerer's idea of a spirit. They cannot be seen or touched. However they are very real. And with gossip. just like magick. there are always consequences of the conjuring.
The "punishment" should always fit the "crime" in the case I am talking about it was just being nasty, vindictive, spoilt and childish. The entire world is better of without people like that.. they shouldn't be allowed to procreate.
