My Da

22:18 Apr 29 2008
Times Read: 1,384

My Da is just about one of the bravest men that I have met. He has survived the second world war serving his time in the Royal Air Force, and earned medals during this time for his service. He got one of his legs crushed which was nearly amputated when it was run over by a tank. He is still suffering at this stage of his life with it, and the old skin grafs are starting to give up.

I am proud of my Father, he served his country like his fathers before him and our family has a long and distinguished service record to the Armed Forces.

Dad, is well in his 80's now..but he is still a teenager at heart. HIs bravery in the face of adversity continues to amaze me as he took of to Spain today, rolling of in his wheelchair to the airplane. Oxygen ordered and waiting on the other side for him.

I love my Father

He is in me and I am in Him, and he is all to me.

Take Ownership of Your Own Life.

23:50 Apr 28 2008
Times Read: 1,420

In life not everything will turn out the way you want them. At one time you will be up at the top of the hill, and the next time you will be standing at the bottom wondering how the heck you got there, and vice versa. These journeys are important to remember, because the beauty of them all is that you take ownership, and see it through to it's entirety. By doing this you will be stronger because you will have more faith in your own abilities, and never will be afraid as your inner strength grows..

My Saturday

23:38 Apr 26 2008
Times Read: 1,490

Well it started when I woke up! ...which is normally at dawn with the loud cries of the magpies. This morning, I thought well I don't have to work so I rolled over and placed the pillow over my head and fell asleep thinking I must get a few cats about the place. Now that would work especially if I could train them to sit on my bedroom window sill! Or the roof :)

I enjoyed the day... I did make pie! Apple crumble that I will have for during the week because we went out for tea this evening , and I forgot I am going out for lunch tomorrow :)

We had a beautiful sunset and we went out with the cameras and took some photographs in the surrounding mountains. Afterwards, we called in on some friends, had a bit of laugh and some wine :)

I almost felt "normal" today and tomorrow is going to be great also :)

Here is a photo of me last fall enjoying my glass of guinness at a pub in southern Ireland....there was a summer breeze in the air today, and I am longing for some long sunny days filled with laughter and love.

The Postman brought me a letter this morning from the Education Authority. It really is unbelievable as my tutor has given me a final opportunity to complete my NVQ4 in Food Secruity and Safety. I would love to teach that subject and with this qualification I could, so I am going to consider going for it. Two papers to write up during May if I do, with a written examination in June. A whole load of work, but I have the Company sorted now and I may be allowed the time in the evenings that is required to do this...

Sockpuppet - My Friend

21:00 Apr 24 2008
Times Read: 1,677

Everyone has their faults, as well as their good points and Guy (Sockpuppet) is no exception to this. I would say I know the bloke for about six years during which time we have often had many laughs, as well as intelligent conversations and exchanges of points of view some of which were heated.

In an adult world we know we don’t have to agree with everyone all of the time and well if we did that it would make us appear to have no inner strength of our own. This is one thing that I adore about the man behind the puppet that he calls people a spade when he feels they are acting inappropriately, and it is just not everyone else but that also includes myself... when he feels I have gone off the rails he tells me so. He doesn’t mince his words about it either.

Guy is consistently getting it wrong with some of the management of Vampire Rave because a lot of the time he voices opinions that not all like, but yet he would be one the first to champion that same person to others when he believes they have done something that is righteous. (That includes his enemies if he finds good in what they do, and I find that an admirable trait.) Not all people are comfortable with both ends of that scale, when the scales tilt at some negativity but that is predictable human behaviour .I think we all have been there and worn that particular tee-shirt.

Maybe people dislike him because he is open, explicit, candid and sometimes rude in his views and points on Vampire Rave, but I personally think that is more honourable and has more credibility than blogging incognito which allows room for imagination, guessing and sprouting of more negativity to others by taking that action. He takes responsibility for his actions by allowing no room for guessing games and takes the consequences on the chin.

Guy has a following of his own that creates and allows for a sensationalism among others that a lot of people regardless if they like him or not enjoy. After all, that gives people a vocal point and being human it is a fact of life that people will talk about and judge others.

Now, I have put together some bad, and some good traits of our still resident Sockpuppet, and it may surprise some people just how supportive he can be towards the Rave and people there at times also.

This journal entry is not written, nor meant to be offensive to anyone who personally dislikes the man – I know many who do, but hey you can’t please everybody all of the time. He has been a good friend to me, and to Images , he has also got under both our skins but then I think that is normal in true friendships. We can’t be nice and smiley, smiley all of the time. Friendship is weathering the storm and being able to come back after disagreement when you agree and recognize your mistakes with each other, otherwise it was never a friendship in the first place. There are two sides to every story.

Was really kinda comical.. It felt good to be awakened by a cup of coffee given to me in bed by hubby. Rare is such a treat as it is usually up with the lark and a race out to the car to get somewhere on time! (and with no coffee!)

Hmm, I was wondering..if the day started off so well would it continue? Lawks, I know I need a break from the awfulness that surrounds me... Humming, I skilly wag it into the office for a meeting with potential buyers..yes, I was in a good mood, well slept for a change and under no pressure and willing to accept the faq that even during illness I can negotiate a market place for the Company.

Well, *smiles* I succeeded. I sold off the part that really was causing me stress, and still retain ownership! *happy dance* so Hubby takes me out for dinner to celebrate...damn American platters are sooooo BIG! I am stuffed!! n' I left half the plate too!! hahaa

See- if you liked snow like I do, you would see it as one last gift of winter. ;)

My Vacation In Spain

First of let me say that it was very beautiful over there, and this time I went on long distance tours in the North of Spain to see the village of Cuenca, and a major city called Zaragoza where currently Expo 2008 is being held.

I wonder if any of you can recognise these rock shapes from a famous movie?

Anyway we pushed on into the Mountains and stopped around about here for a bar-q-que and of course Sangria!

Photobucket

This was the Mountain Shack we partied in, and gosh did we have a ball!

After the midday barby, I took a walk into this quaint village, man it was weird! I didn't see anyone and it was quiet as hell, so I figured I would get out of there by sundown!

It's unfortunate that in everywhere you go that there is always graffiti particularly in a place so beautiful..

Photobucket

Well, if I had to name the village above I guess it would of called it, "The village of the Dead" one could not hear a sound, a baby cry or a radio being played.

So, I think it was time to move on.. it got eerie after that and I started to feel I was being watched so I hurried back to the hotel! vis this beautiful shortcut...

Photobucket

Weird place, I got the shivers race up and down my spine en-route back, and when I looked at the top of the Mountain there was the Holy Cross on top overshadowing the entire village..

Photobucket

So, phew man was I glad I got in and closed my back on the door!!

Photobucket

Chuckles, well what can I say, "OLAY!!" to you brother and thanks for the lend of your warm sweats even 'tho they did drown me! I had a great time in da mountains!! :) :)

I love that architecture, reminds me of "The Magnificent Seven." I could be a hero here, especially when the place is deserted-

Sometimes having confidence can lead to complacency, and in this.. we put ourself or others at risk. We must always consider things which are outside of our control and take precautions for self, or product protection. This is a lesson to be learned in life, and here endeth the lesson.
