Can You Stay?
From the very first night we were together
You brought a thundering calm into my life.
The very first time you looked into my eyes like a lover
I knew you were to be mine and I was to be yours.
Through all the madness, heartache, loneliness, and chaos
I never once doubted that you would come home to my ares
Knowing that only LOVE waited for you there
I've wanted to hate you
But never could
I've wanted to betray you
But no other could touch me as you have
I've wanted to tun far away from you and hide
But you knew in my deepest or hearts that no mater where I
went, part of you was in me and would be with me forever.
After all this time, and all I've endured
You've come back to me
Found your way home to my hear.
Please stay with me now
Please show me, that my faith in you was not in vain.
I KNOW you love me.
But... Can you stay?
I’m from family, school, and my water bottle.
I am from eight years of music classes….
from the resonance of the guitar, the beating of the drums, pulsing through my veins, and notes dancing across the page.
I’m from years of babysitting, the cooing and fussing of babies, and the giggling and smiles of children.
I am from weekends of fun with my friends,
from random dancing and singing, giggling for no reason and picking on each other.
I am from dust in the air…
from catching tadpoles in the water troughs on my grandpas farm, the pounding of hooves in the barn, and playing with the fuzzy little kittens as a child.
I’m from Harry potter, Sarah Dessen…
from reading for hours at a time.
I’m from horror movies with my friends and family, screaming and yelling.
I’m from the fuzziness of puppies and kittens, the pecking of chicks and hens,
from the whinnying for horses and the squeaking of kittens.
I am from the vibrant colors and sweet smells of roses, lilacs, and violets.
I am from a big family…
from Cindy and Gary, three half sisters and a brother,
from a step-mom, a step brother and step sister,
from a step-father and a divorce that still hurs from time to time.
I’m from six nieces and eight nephews.
I’m from gazing at the stars, playing in the rain, collecting rocks, and the smell of fresh cut grass.
I’m from Christmas at my cousins house, handing out gifts, the usual talks with the family, and the huge decorated tree.
I am from a painful past.
I am from a bright future.
I am from a beautiful life.
