Senator Kevin Eltife
Texas State Senate
District 1
Senator Eltife:
I know you have a Breed Ban Legislation bill before you.
Before you put your pen to paper; I strongly urge you to reconsider your vote.
Banning any breed does not resolve the issues being discussed right now.
One must always realize that ultimately it is the Owner that must protect their animal and the populace in general by showing responsibility for proper socialization; proper training and handling of any animal in their care.
To lay the sole fault of any unfortunate circumstance at the feet of any one breed for these this is tantamount to ethnic cleansing.
Do we really want to repeat the mistakes of the past - ie. - the holicaust.
Surely we have resolved to not remove one element of our community for the acts of the one or the few. To do so and allow this to happen is more of a sad reflection on the rest of us.
So, Sir - it is my intention to ask of you to give pause for thought.
Please do not seek to simply wipe away a whole community of the dog world on the words or deeds of isolated incidents.
Do not seek to strike out in reaction, instead encourage education, responsible pet ownership. Not puppymills; not illegal fighting. These are the root causes for incidents like this.
Please let us; the owners who care for, love and honor our pets by standing up for them continue to love and care for them as we do for our children and our elderly.
We speak for those who are not able to.
Please honor our wishes and allow us to keep demonstrating what responsible pet ownership is truly capable of.
In the state of Texas -
Breed Specific Legislation is attempting to rear its' ugly head.
Because of the neglect/ill treatment or lack of care. Because of the careless acts of a few; they now seek to eradicate the entire breed.
Now if you allow us to simply remove the human part of these issues. I can promise you that these issues will no longer be an issue.
I think that the outcry on that suggestion will not be received well though.
Someone must speak out for those who cannot.
We all deal with careless acts by others with no thought to what the outcome may be.
I will not stand by though and allow any breed to be eliminated because of ignorance.
Again, humans have proved my thoughts correct - which are.
What we do not understand we fear -
What we fear -
We seek to destroy....
Make me wrong -
Stand up, give a damn. Make a difference.
If not now, when. If not for this -
Then what will matter to you -
When the last great bird has fallen, when the buffalo no longer run, when the last wild horse has been killed for amusement?
Make me wrong - stand up and make a difference for those who cannot speak.

and trying to keep up to date on my own states laws... I will NEVER give up my pit bull!!!
Thanks for the support darling -
I love you, your support means so very much to me.
My dog is wolf and pitt. I had to lie about his breed to be able to keep him on post. Now that people know him and how he is and how very well trained he is, I think I'm getting more people to our side on this. I also train dogs for everyone locally here. I train the owners too. I hate that animals are the ones being put down for man kind's fuck up. Put down the owners, not the breed because they'll just pick another breed and do the same thing.
Agreed,
As another friend pointed out. The beast is usually on the other end holding the leash.
I am hoping that others will be proactive and help to fight this. If it passes here, many will loose their beloved pets and it will be only a matter of time before another breed is targeted.
Below is a story unfolding as we speak. So sad and needs to be stopped soon. If you can help, I implore you to.
