my cat has decided to amuse himself by knocking off my pens and chasing them round the carpet, occasionally pouncing at my leg that's hanging off the chair. I do love my kitty, but he really needs to talk about his mental issues with someone. XD
The sunny weather's gone (which isn't soo bad) and another volcano in Iceland has irrupted, which means we'll get even more volcanic ash. And it'll delay the oncoming package that'll be posted soon (thank you Catalyst!! can't wait!)
Four weeks until my exams (oh no) and my computer had a nasty virus a few days ago (damn thing) things seem to be working against me with annoying little things.
I'll be leaving secondary school soon (the equivalent of high school) and my exams are coming up. I don't really stress about exams, I don't see the point; but most of my time has been spent revising and thinking about exams. The a friend talks to me about his worries that we wont be able to keep in touch after I leave. Shit.
I've had a few thoughts - it'll be great to meet new people, most of my friends are going to the same collage so it's all good' before now. But I've never really thought some of my few close friends wont be doing the same thing, and damn if it hasn't gotten me thinking.
Full of fun and relaxing? I don't think so. After entertaining my two cousins (Ben (8) and Kimi (4)) and the 'lovely' *cough* warm weather setting in, all that's left for me is revision for my upcoming exams in FOUR weeks (argh!!!) let's hope my trip into town goes better tomorrow.
Was on the tram, heading into town yesterday when a group in tracksuits and and whatever got on. I just hate it when they stare at you like your scum. Sorry that I don't want to do what's 'cool', but if your going to stare like that don't think I cant see you when your standing right in front of me. Grr.
Any of you familiar with Freud's theories about the subconscious mind? Was doing my psychology revision (got my GCSE exams in the summer) and it got my mind a little confused. Especially the theory about a child's development into gender-rolls.
'At age 4 a child's libido creates a desire for the opposite sex parent' (all in the subconscious mind, obviously), but if this happens at the age of four, why isn't their any mentioning of it carrying on into a child's later years? And how can he tell it's a 'desire' for the opposite sex parent, and not just a show of storge? (Greek term for love for family)and looking at the same sex parent and thinking 'I want to be just like mum/dad when I grow up'
Not to mention, he never actually studied any child when he carried out the study. How did he know what age this happened at. Also why do some want to take after the opposite sex parent? I knew I wan't to be an electrician rather than work at a nursery when I was little.
After being recommended (or more informed) about this site from a friend (thanks x1Luke6x!) , I decided to create my own profile. Here's hoping I can find some similar-minded people (and not so similar minded) to chat with XD
