I've been getting into this comic I saw online, called Nemi. It's one of these small panel strips for newspapers. I love it. xD
Some of us will never be good enough. They call us "power trippers", "bullshit artists". Not taking the time to read their words. If you stand strong, bold, graceful, you can take leadership in your actions. Not to say everyone is perfect. We can't be.
Change for the better; yes.
I haven't written much about the storm. Assuming people read about it themselves or don't want to dally on a hard subject. This article hits home in feelings towards the destruction:

I don't live in this area but I have worked here, spent most of my childhood there and even volunteered for the parade hosted by the Freak Show, once, hoping to help more in the future. For people who didn't lose much, they still have.
One guy in the article, Rafael really says it all when he explains-
"I'm sitting watching the news, and it says Coney Island didn't get hit too bad," he said. "I was sitting here watching everything I've worked for, everything I've fought for, go under water. Oh, Coney Island didn't get hit?" He shook his head in disgust."

Whenever we look at life and how we build it as a "statistic" we loose.
It is too bad the news, health care, insurance companies- business; all view us as a statistic. Someone that can easily be replaced.
So sad
"we are expendable items of Society"
