Work is hard to come by these days all over the U.S. from what I can gather from talking to friends and such, but when a person gets turned down for a two day a week, graveyard shift, gas station job it tends to depress them. I thought for sure I could at least get that job until something else came along and it would keep me in smokes and get me out of the house for a bit at least! But NOOOOOO! Just because I have this huge gap in my resume, I am passed over for job after job. I chose willingly to give up working for my kids and I don't regret it but I am about to scream at the next person who asks why I would do that, who asks what I was doing for all those years. Let me tell ya what I was doing! I was working my ass off 24/7 for no pay but the BEST benefits available..all the hugs and kisses I could ever want. The next person who tells me that being a stay at home mom (or domestic goddess as I prefer) isn't work will probably be tasting my fist! You clean from sunup to sunrise and then get to play for a bit with the kids and hopefully they (and you) learn something new that day.

It's nuts that such dedication is not more recognised and cherished.
Regardless of your situation now or in the future, the love, care and time you have given your children is a great blessing.
Congratulations, you are a wonderful mother. XXX
