Yesterday went pretty smooth in the OR. I did a left AV fistula and anastomosis and a basilic AV anastomosis. Which is basically putting an artery and a vein together because of a clot or scar tissue of a previous surgery in that area. The third case I worked on was a lap-chole which is a laparoscopic removal of a gallbladder. Pretty cool shit! And I did not piss off my preceptors. :) Hope today goes that good.
Yesterday when I left the hospital it seemed like today was getting pretty full for surgeries but the last one may have been at 13:30. So hopefully I get to scrub in on quite a few. If I am not too tired later I will most likely end up on cam since I have tomorrow off. If not maybe tomorrow night so I won't look so sleepy...lol
Have a great Friday!
I have been in SPD for the past two weeks and have learned a lot and a lot of new instruments. It is the department where they process and sterilize the instruments and get them set up in trays for the different surgeries. I actually really like it there as it is very drama free. Tomorrow I will be back in the OR! So I hope it will be a smooth sailing Friday cause I will be ready for a couple of cold ones and most likely some cam time Friday night!!!
Happy Thursday!
