My initial post in Decmber kept on going on the new house being built. For the most part the subcontractors did a great job or pretty good job. We did this for a living for many years and my ole man is particular about some things. Some he overlooked to keep the ball rolling as we were having issues. The cabinet people were one of the main shit show people. The designer kept messing up the layout over a month and a half. When I went in to finalize the layout she tells me my granite slab for my counter was sold and I had go pick out new granite. I went and did that but did not like it as much as the initial pick and went to another granite place and found something closer to the original. Then all of a sudden they find 2 slabs in Michigan of the same granite. I go look at them and they are nice but not the same, I say yes since I picked out tile etc. to match the granite. The day they go to install the granite they break the slab! We move on and find another dealer on the NW side of Indy. We pick out something that ends up being $2K more. For once the builder was on our side and said the cabinet/grainite fabricators had to eat the cost. WTF! Also many issues with the builder saying they fixed things they didn't or would do things they didn't. Blowing up on the phone or email at us when we questioned an issue. They went off on my realtor, even. Been a nightmare! We finally closed on the new house which was another shit show. I will be at the new house tomorrow with my cats so they can figure the place out before the pup comes on Friday. Almost over and some decompression tie is needed.
