I survived my first week of classes!!! I found out that I ranked 12th out of the 60 applicants that applied to the program. Only 32 actually got in though. That made me feel pretty good. And I got an A on my first quiz. So off to a good start.
On Tuesday, I took my parents (69 and 77) to see Dead Can Dance. It was my 3rd time and I have seen Lisa Gerrard solo on a tour. It was my mom's 2nd time. I do not care which song she sings when it is the first song, I lose it. Her voice is so wonderful live it brings me to tears and gives me the goosebumps. Amazing show! A couple of videos I found on youtube from the show. First one, sound is good video, so-so.
Penises and vaginas, oh my! That is what my morning consisted of today at school. We did a lab called Foley, which is catheterization. I thought it was very interesting. Of course, there were people snickering and making jokes which kind of pisses me off. I mean if you were doing a cath on someone, surely you wouldn't be laughing about it or commenting on their size. If I could have posted the pictures, I would have taken some. Very cool lab.
First day of my fall semester starts this morning. I hope it goes very fast! Although I slept well once I fell asleep, I woke up and was listless after that, forcing myself not to look at the clock. Usually the first day sort of orientation like, and everyone has paperwork to turn in for all of our medical and background stuff. I kind of had the chills last night too and I was blaming it on that stupid flu shot. LOL
Had a semi-productive day doing stuff around the house and laundry. Got all of my paperwork together and organized for school tomorrow. My books are together and I packed up my gym bag so I can get back on my work-out routine. I ended up breaking down and went and got a flu shot *shudders* I have never had one EVER! And I have never had the flu. I am super nervous about having to get one but I have to have it to start my ckinicals in October. Oh well, I am hoping for the best and that this shot doesn't make me sick.
To me, it seems like the past few days here on VR that there have not been very many journal posts. Has anyone else noticed? What's everyone been doing??? LOL

It has been like that for a while now. I can literally check the journals page before bed, and then again when I wake up the next morning, and there will only be about five or six new journal posts at the most.
And no I don't think it's weird that I do that. ha.
I check it often myself, so no, I do not think you are weird for doing so...LOL
Journal posts or quality posts?!! lol
Good point! I must admit, I post mumbo jumbo myself a lot of times.
I'm guessing that many are taking lil' vacations before going back to school, work, etc.
I'm with Isis....last of the summer doldrums. VR in general seems slower than usual. Once fall (finally!) arrives, I expect the joint to start hoppin again.
Less than a week before classes start. I have already completed 2 sections of my workbook(not short either) and working on the third. I am trying to be ahead of the game in case I have a lazy week or just to not be so stressed when it all starts. My plan is to keep plugging away a little bit each day as time allows. It can only benefit me..
I got my haircut scheduled for tomorrow. I so need it. My bangs are driving me crazy and then i want to take the scissors to them myself. I started reading one of my books for class and working on the lab book. Hope to have at least chapter one done if not the first three if I can swing it. The first lab is 13 pages long. I will give it a shot though and see what happens.

I mean duh (to the first paragraph).
And I've been listening to DCD for decades now and never managed to see them in concert. Someday...
