The water so crisp and clear
Yet she stares into it and can barely recognize her own reflection
Her hands softly glide through the tall grass that consumes her body
The blinding sun bathes her in its light
She closes her eyes and feel the gentle breeze sweep across her face
It speaks to her with the most beautiful words
A smile crosses her red lips as she hears its voice of reason
Everything around her is peaceful and quiet
She opens her eyes, her vision blurry
A tall shadow is staring right at her begging for her to come with it
The dream ends, she wakes up with emptiness by her side
Hot tears scroll down her face as she realize it was all in her head
A gentle breeze from her window hits her face
She smiles with content in her heart as she hears its sweet words
Like in her dream, she welcomes it and embraces it
For the sweet words it says, "I love you."
This old house so dark and empty
Cob webs, dust, and everything in debris
Everything in ruins except for the mirrors that still remain
I dare to look at myself in its cold reflection and it causes me pain
The mirrors are suppose to show you joy, love, and content
But, all I see is a broken shattered dream, my own personal lament
These mirrors play cruel games on my eager eyes
They show me nothing good in the world, just my own demise
I break the mirrors, the pieces break
I will not play this silly game no more, its all I can take
My hands bloody and now weak
I turn around and walk out into the street
Everything seems so serene and my vision becomes clear
Don't ever play in the house of mirrors.
