So today has been pretty eventful. I was involved in a bit of a fender bender. I was on the city bus while chatting with MasterofMadness when the driver of a silver vehicle slammed right into the bus I was on. I'm ok just a little shaken up. I was allowed to leave the scene so I had to walk to work today. I got so much cold air in my lungs, I've developed a cough. But rest assured I'm doing ok. I just hope tomorrow is better than today.

Today is the day I officially get to meet my dietitian. I'm actually pretty excited about this. I will learn what I can actually have to eat and what I can't eat. But first I will have to step on that dreaded scale and see what my weight is. My anxiety always kicks in when I see the scale. This visit I will also be gathering new recipes. So far I have 5 in my binder.

Then Thursday is the dreadful blood test. I have to fast for this one. Im hoping this time my A1C will be down a lot more than it was the last time. Hopefully I'll get someone who knows how to draw blood and doesn't dig around in my arm for a vein like the last time. Afterwards its breakfast at the coach house! They make the most amazing omelets I have ever tasted especially the mexican scramble. *drools*

I have been working with a Dietitan for years. Smart move gurly! Even when I was working in America 5 years ago I worked with one at the local Hospital. What many do not know in America is that most hospital you can work with the Medical Dietitans at the hospitals for FREE.

Yeah I agree on the blood draw. Most though are really good at it but once in a while you get those that dig! Last time I was in hospital this one who would wake me at 4 am..... after her first time I refused to let her attempt to get blood from me... she was digger... and she tried to stick me 4x... after her third try I kicked her out... That shit is painful when they miss and say sorry hon it's.... just... right.... there..... and OMG does that shit hurt!!!

My mom is a diabetic. So I kinda understand what you're going through.
I had my blood drawn yesterday for something job related. I told the nurse which vein to use and didn't squirm. I boasted that I was probably the best patient she ever had lol.

Thank you both for your comments. Yes blood drawls really suck, but they are essential. Hopefully you passed your blood test Rose. I get my blood tested so much that I know who digs and who doesn't.

It's official, I'm snowed in! We are expected to get up to 8 inches of snow. The better part is that I'm off work until the snow stops.

So I confronted the 18 year old Male coworker today over skipping out on his shift last week. Basically he tried to save his ass and deny that he even did it. Then I had to tell him that another coworker spotted him. Once again he tried to lie and say he didn't call in and he called in Tuesday. Whatever dude. *sighs* Greatest part is they are getting their hours cut and I get to pick up more shifts along with another of my coworkers.

Today has really been a great day. I got 4 extra hours in at work today and now I get to head home. The two teens that keep calling in were told today that they needed to start bringing in doctor's notes in for every time they call in for now on. Then tomorrow I'm confronting the guy over skipping out on his shift last Sunday. I had a friend that I worked with in the Salad Bar tell me she ran into him at the mall and asked him if he should me home since he was sick. Well the guy told her am I supposed to be sick? Kids these days smh. This weekend however I will have my niece and we are going to do some arts and crafts and then go see santa. I can't wait. :)

Just a slight reminder that I'm still here even though work keeps me away from here. I do however have some updates to share. Since having to deal with diabetes and having to commit to a new lifestyle, I have dropped nearly 30lbs. I'm feeling healthier and much better than I have in years. In fact when I have my next doctor visit I'm expecting to be taken off my high blood pressure meds!

Work is going fairly ok since moving into my new department back in August. I am however looking into changing gears in the new year. I like where I'm at, but I'm not hardly getting time off anymore due to two kids constantly calling in. I should mention that these two kids are dating. I'm going to finish off the month and see if it gets better but I'm definitely planning to walk if it doesn't.
