Fire Divination Spell

20:12 Mar 22 2008
Times Read: 659

This spell is particularly well cast while sitting before the Yule Log! But is just as effective with any fire.

While watching the flames, repeat this verse three times:

Fire red and burning well

Into your depths I cast this spell

Knowing that indeed full well,

My future here thee will me tell

Then poke the fire three times.

Watch the way in which the sparks fly up just after you have spoken the incantation. Generally, fast plentiful sparks and spits mean a hectic start to the new spring, with a lot to do and little time to do it. Several loud pops mean shocks to a current way of life, perhaps the appearence of a mentor. Slow burning hisses mean time alone for contemplation.

Casting and Closing A Circle

20:10 Mar 22 2008
Times Read: 660

Have your altar and tools prepared and mark the circle with quarter candles. Move to the middle of the circle and state while spinning in a deosil direction:

I open my hand and the circle grows,

It encompasses and protects me,

As above,

So below,

This Circle is sealed!

Then follows the call of the quarters, beginning in the North, light each candle while invoking that quarter:

North, the power of Fire,

West, the power of Earth,

South, the power of Air,

East, the power of Water,

Assist me now.

While lighting the candles, visualise a growing sphere that encompasses your sacred space.

To close the circle, release the quarters. Say the following while walking clockwise around the circle, snuffing out each candle as you go:

East, South, West and North,

I thank you for your assistance,

May we meet again in love and trust.

Move to the centre of the circle. Raise your hands above your head and slowly bring them to your sides while moving clockwise around the circle. Say as you go:

I close my hand and the circle shrinks,

This circle is open

But never broken.

The circle is now open.

Casting a Purification Circle

20:06 Mar 22 2008
Times Read: 662

After establishing your altar, and marking the extent of the circle, including the four quarters with appropriately coloured candles, stand before your altar.

Light the altar candle with a lighter. Circle the area in an anti-clockwise direction (this is deosil in the Southern Hemisphere) and light each quarter candle.

Pick up your broom and sweep the circle as you walk inside it in a deosil direction: Repeat as you sweep:

Sweep, sweep, sweep this place

By Power of Air, I cleanse this space.

While doing this feel the element of Air moving within the circle. Return to the altar and pick up the gold candle. Light it from the altar candle and walk around the inside of the circle in a deosil direction while saying:

Light, light, I light this place

By Power of Fire, I cleanse this space.

Concentrate on the Fire energy flowing around the circle. Return to the altar and pick up the chalice of spring water. As you walk in a deosil direction inside the circle, sprinkle the water with your fingers and say:

Liquid, liquid, I wash this space

By Powers of Water, I cleanse this space.

Feel the element of Water flow around the circle. Return to the altar and pick up the bowl of earth. Walk in a deosil direction around the circle and sprinkle the earth and say:

Dirt, dirt, as I walk this place

Powers of Earth, cleanse this space.

Feel the element of earth bring her gift to the circle. Return the bowl to the altar and move to the centre of the circle. In the Goddess position say:

Spirit, spirit, fill this space

Powers of the Divine, consecrate this space!

Feel the power if the Goddess and God enter yourself and your sacred space. When the energy begins to dissipate, turn back to the altar. Lay your hands upon the altar and say:

This altar is dedicated to the Lord and Lady of light. May it serve me well.

After conducting your ritual or consecration, you must take down the circle. Return to the middle of the circle, stand in the Goddess position and say while gradually lowering your arms to your side:

The web of life is an endless circle never to die only to change form.

What was begun is now finished.

Welcome home these energies borne.

The circle is open, never broken.

It is so!

When they reach your waist quickly drop them to put the energy back into Earth Mother. The circle is released.

Times Read: 669

"God and Goddess of the skies,

Please respond to my cries.

Lift me up in your strong arms,

Away from those who seek to harm.

Shield me from the awful rage,

That shall face me day to day.

Help me be strong in what I do,

And help my heart remain true.

Give me the strength to face each day,

And the hardships before me lain.

Let those who I love, love me in return,

And everyday let me learn.

I bid you both my spirit keep,

While I'm awake and asleep.

The secrets, which entrusted be.

To I who walk the hidden road,

To find the hearthstone's calm abode.

Guardians from the four directions,

Hear me and lend thy protection.

May these truths of earth and skies,

Shielded be from prying eyes.

But to the witches who's map this be,

May the way be plain to see;

And through all the coming ages,

May we find home in these pages,

Book of Shadows Blessing (2)

17:48 Mar 22 2008
Times Read: 671

You can say this blessing over your Book of Shadows:

" In the realm of magick this book shall reside.

No one but the chosen shall see what's inside.

If breath be to air as passion to fire,

Let harm come to none, this is my desire.

If life be to earth as water to emotions,

This book be filled with magickal potions.

May the Gods protect it, keep it from harm,

And upon it bestow power, magick and charm.

No one without wisdom shall peer at it's pages,

Or the knowledge inside handed down through the ages.

This book be it mine, it harbours no fears,

The knowledge obtained through blood, sweat& tears,

My magick's my passion, the spirits my guide.

The book may she bless it with spiritual light.

And let only her children read of its rite.

For those of the Wicca truly can see,

That this is my will,

So mote it be!"

To give a spell more power:

Say before the spell:

'By the power of three times three

This spell bound around shall be

To cause no harm, no return on me

As I do will, so mote it be.'

To undo a spell you did:

Burn the opposite candles as when you did during the ritual, and burn a gold and a silver candle for the God and Goddess. Preform this spell at 10 minuts before 12 at night.

'Yet in blurred time I've casted a spell

But now I have seen I regret what I have done

In the end it didn't work all that well

So I ask by Goddess and God and the oldest magic in the world

Return this harm for it hurts not

Else I am the craft of the Wise not worth

Under my spell and all it's work at 12

And let it be forgotten and by all who were harmed

except for me

In Aradia and Kamayna's name

I ask you with all my power

Protect them who were influenced by me

Heal the wounds I caused now at this hour

As I do will so mote it be.'

Write all the names of the people you have hurt down and burn this at 12. Say:

'By the great magic I am aware

let all affects be turned

By Fire, Water, Earth and Air

Be like this paper.

Burned.'

To Break Another Witches Spell:

*A length of silver cord or string

*Your Athame or a pair of scissors

Tie one knot in each end of the silver cord, as you do this visualize one knot representing you and the other person who has cast the spell or hex.

Cut the cord in the centre, chant the following, and see the spell breaking:

From you to me this spell I break,

This was not right for you to make.

Its path I will abruptly end,

And back to you the spell I send

For Sleep and Sweet Dreams :

*2 small bunches of Lavender

*3 drops of Lavender Oil

*A small handful of Poppy Petals

*1 piece of Citrine

*1 stick of Passion Flower Incense

*1 Silver Candle

*Piece of Blue Silk

*Length of Blue Silk Thread

Cast your Circle

Light the Candle and Incense. Lay the cloth between the two bunches of Lavender and say these words:

'By the power of the Goddess Moon

By candle Wand and mystic rune

I ask the gift of sleep to fall

On those who chose this charm and call

In perfect love and perfect trust

A sleep as peacepul as the Dove

By Grace I ask and harm to none

So as I ask, so be it done'

As you say these words, place the petals on the cloth ,add one drop of the oil and the piece of citrine. Put 1 drop on each of the bunches of Lavender and tie the cloth up with the blue thread. Keep repeating the words until you feel the spell has worked. Allow the Candle and Incense to burn out and place the cloth bundle under your pillow and tie a bunch of lavender to each side of the headboard.

Protection, shapeshifting, invisibility.

Wood Rose:(Luck)

Carry a Wood Rose to attract good luck and fortune. Also place some in the home to ensure it is lucky as well.

Woodruff:(Victory, Protection, Money)

Woodruff is carried to attract money and prosperity, to bring victory to athletes and warriors, and when placed in a sachet of leather it guards against all evil.

Wormwood:(Psychic Powers, Protection, Love, Calling Spirits)

Wormwood is burned in incenses designed to aid in developing psychic powers, and is also worn for this purpose.

Carried, Wormwood protects not only against bewitchment, but also from the bite of sea serpents. Also, according to ancient traditions, it counteracts the effects of poisoning by Hemlock and Toadstools, but you should not rely on this measure. Hung from the rear view mirror, Wormwood protects vehicles from accidents on treacherous roads.

Wormwood is also sometimes used in love infusions, probably because it was once made into an alcoholic beverage called Absinthe. The highly addictive and dangerous liqueur is now outlawed or banned in many countries, but the reputation lingers and Wormwood is still used in love mixtures. One such use is to place it under the bed to draw a loved one.

Wormwood is also burned to summon spirits. It is sometimes mixed with Sandalwood for this purpose. If burned in graveyards, the spirits of the dead will rise and speak, according to old grimoires.

Psychic power, healing, calling spirits, protection, love.

YARROW

:(Courage, Love, Psychic Powers, Exorcism)

When worn, Yarrow protects the wearer, and when held in the hand, it stops all fear and grants courage.

A bunch of dried Yarrow hung over the bed, or Yarrow used in wedding decorations ensures a love lasting at least seven years. Yarrow is also used in love spells.

Carrying Yarrow not only brings love but it also attracts friends and distant relations you wish to contact. It draws the attention of those you want to see.

The flowers are made into an infusion and the resulting tea is drunk to improve psychic powers.

Washing the head with Yarrow infusion will prevent baldness but wont cure it if it has already begun.

Yarrow is also used to exorcise evil and negativity from a person, place or thing.

Yellow Evening Primrose:(Hunting)

Native Americans rubbed this plant against their moccasins and body to ensure a good hunt, and to cause snakes to avoid them.

YERBA MATE

Fidelity, love, lust.

YERBA SANTA

Beauty, healing, psychic powers, protection.

YEW

Calling spirits Yew(POISON):(Raising the Dead)

This poisonous plant is sometimes used in spells to raise the spirits of the dead. Though it has a long mythic history, it is little used in magick due to its high toxicity

YLANG YLANG

Element is Fire and Water. Faery magick, love, lust, peace. Planet is the Moon and Venus

Yohimbe(POISON):(Love, Lust)

Yohimbe is traditionally drunk as a lust potion and the powdered herb is added to love mixtures. I do not recommend taking Yohimbe internally, as too much can be dangerous.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yucca:(Transmutation, Protection, Purification)

A hoop or loop of twisted Yucca fibres will transmutate a person into an animal if he or she jumps through it, according to Native American magick. Another method instructs the magician to place a wreath of Yucca fibres on his or her head. This allows the person to assume any form he or she wants.

Suds made from the Yucca plant are used in purifying the body before magick. If a spell to remove curses or illnesses is performed, repeat the Yucca-suds bath afterward to ensure that all traces of the evil or sickness are removed.YUCCA

Protection, healing, purification.

Bide the Wiccan laws we must
In perfect Love and perfect Trust.
Live and let live,
Fairly take and fairly give.
Cast the circle thrice about
To keep the evil spirits out.
To bind the spell every time,
Let the spell be spake in rhyme.
Soft of Eye and Light of Touch,
Speak but little, listen much.
Desoil go by the waxing moon,
Chanting out the Witche's Rune.
Widdershins go by the waning moon,
Chanting out the baneful rune.
When the Lady's moon is new,
Kiss the hand to her, times two.
When the moon rides at ther peak,
Then they heart's desire speak.
Heed the North Winds mighty gale,
Lock the door and drop the sail.
When the wind comes from the South,
Love will kiss thee on the mouth.
When the wind blows from the West,
Departed souls will have no rest.
When the wind blows from the East,
Expect the new and set the Feast.
Nine woods in the cauldron go,
Burn them fast and burn them slow.
Elder be the Lady's tree,
Burn it not, or cursed you'll be.
When the whell begins to turn,
Let the Beltane fires burn.
When the wheel has turned to Yule,
Light the log and Horned One rules.
Heed thee Flower, Bush and Tree,
By the Lady, Blessed Be.
Where the rippling waters go,
Cast a stone and truth you'll know.
When thou hast a true need,
Hearken not to other's greed.
With a fool no season spend,
Lest thou be counted as his friend.
Merry Meet and Merry Part,
Bright the cheeks and warm the heart.
Mind the Three fold Law you should,
Three times Bad and Three times Good.
When misfourtune is enow,
Wear the Blue Star on thy brow.
True in Love, ever be,
LEst the Lover's false to thee.
Eight words the Wiccan Rede fufill:
"AN THEE HARM NONE, DO WHAT YE WILL".

Persephone (latin: Proserpina): the Goddess that represends the good and the evil inside of us, since she is the only one that is dead and alive both. In some places worshiped more than the other Gods as the Goddess of Loneliness. She dies for six months to go to her husband, Pluto, then she comes back to life to go to her mother, Demeter (or to her other husband, Dionysus or Apollo).

Dionysus (latin:Liber): the opposite of Apollo. He is the God of wine, disorder, madness and exstasy. Also the Deity of agriculture and theatre. He is the God of life and masquerade.

Of course, there are a lot of other Deities, but it would take me a year and some months to write them all .

These are the major ones, with some little things said.

Elemental Cauldrons

01:17 Mar 19 2008
Times Read: 680

Using a cauldron, symbol of inspiration and rebirth, has brought new dimensions to both group and solitary work. A cauldron decorates the center of the Circle during Lesser Sabbats. An air cauldron at a spring rite creates a misty, magical quality for the ceremony. In summer, the cauldron will flash and spark. A blue flame burns mysteriously within the Water cauldron during the autumn festival. Throughout Yule, the Earth cauldron burns steadfast and constant. During moon rites, when magick is done, we write the purpose of our working on flash papers and toss them into the burning cauldron while chanting.

A working cauldron should be of cast iron, with a tight-fitting lid, three sturdy legs, and a strong handle. Season your cauldron before using it for the first time. Pour in generous helping of salt and lighter fluid, slosh it up to the rim and wipe dry. For indoor use it MUST have a fireproof base or your workings will summon up yellow-coated salamander spirits from the fire department.

EARTH Cauldron

Layer salt, wax shavings, three powered or ground herbs, fighter fluid and ivy leaves in the cauldron while focus and chanting. Use a candle to light it. When the smoke starts to roll, extinguish the cauldron by putting the lid on.

AIR Cauldron

Using tongs, put a chunk of dry ice is a small glass or ceramic bowl and place the bowl on a cloth in the bottom of the cauldron. Allow the cauldron to smoke as long as the ice lasts. The mists create excellent images for scrying.

FIRE Cauldron

Cover theinside bottom with dirtor sand to dissipateheat. Light incense charcoal and add either salt petter for flame and spark or flash powder for a different but spectacular effect. To assist in releasing or firing off peak energy, try using flash "bombs". Make a small pocket in a piece of flash paper, fill with flash powder and tie with thread. The "bomb" should be about the size of your smallest fingernail. The results are spectacularly bright, so use the powder sparingly. Don't look directly at the flash as you drop the "bomb" in the cauldron.

WATER Cauldron

At least seven days before the ritual, place equal quantities of three appropriate herbs in a pint glass jar. Fill the rest of the jar with Everclear (200 proof alcohol), cap tightly, and shake gently while concentrating on the purpose of the ritual. Add a chant if its feels right. Let the jar rest in a dark, warm spot and shake twice daily, charging with purpose. Before the ritual, place a fireproof ceramic or glass bowl in the cauldron. Pour in the herb mixture, being careful none spills into the cauldron. Light with a candle to produce a beautiful blue flame.

The cauldron, as the fifth elemental spirit, symbolizes inspiration, rebirth, illumination and rejuvenation. Use a Fire cauldron with salt petter to cast a Circle. Use the mists of an Air cauldron for an initiation. Burn away hate, prejudice and negative self-images, with a Water cauldron. The Earth cauldron is ideal for indoor Beltane rites.

Remember to place a burning cauldron on a fireproof surface. Practice safety when using any volatile materials and you will enjoy your cauldron for many rites.

Familiar Dictionary

01:16 Mar 19 2008
Times Read: 682

Below is listed a few common animals (with corresponding Gaelic names). I have chosen a more dominant Celtic view, but the animals listed are common in many cultures with many of the same associations. In general, insects and amphibians are associated with transitions, alterations and transformations. . Birds, are seen as messengers between this world and the Otherworlds or even as guides to the Otherworlds.

If a certain animal appears in a dream and seems important then take note of it and write it down in your dream journal or book of some sort you use. This animal is trying to symbolize something important. One important dream I had of an animal was with a squirrel. In my dream I was the squirrel and when I woke up I was actually upset to find out it was only a dream because in my dream as a squirrel I experienced such feelings of freedom, of total open and complete space with nothing attached. It became my familiar after that and works with me to help me make decisions and choices now in my life that will grant me in the future the freedom in life I crave. Maybe this will be freedom later in this life or maybe more freedom in my next life. But, whatever it means it is the symbol of my Freedom.

The list below is a brief list, it is not to be taken literally. Just as we cannot decipher our dreams using a book, we cannot decipher the meanings of animals when they appear to us in dreams or when we are drawn to them for some reason. The only one who knows the correct meaning of the animal symbols is you. This is only a list of basic cultural, mythological and maybe basic ancestral archetypes.

ADDER ,SNAKE, SERPENT (Nadredd)

Associated with reincarnation, shedding the old skin for a new one. Also associated with wisdom and cunning. The snake, as a familiar with help you prepare for something new coming into your life, usually something better then the way it is now. A common symbol for jewelry.

Shape shifting quality: The snake can hide in the grass when danger is near and strike quickly.

Shape shifting quality: It is attuned to the seasons and knows when to prepare for a winter. When it is attacked it stands on its hind legs for height to intimidate it`s attacker.

BEE (Beach)

Shape shifting quality: Butterflies can camouflage itself against enemies.

CAT (Cat)

Associated with cunning and independence. The cat as a familiar will help you to see what is in the 'dark'.

At times you must slay your 'inner dragons' and fight your fear to find the truth, the power the wealth hidden away within the caves of your inner mind.

Shape shifting quality: A creature that likes to be alone. It values quality and therefore gathers riches both spiritually and materially and hordes them away safely in its cave.

EAGLE (Iolair)

fetch (familiar)

01:14 Mar 19 2008
Times Read: 683

Animals, as pets or a fetch (familiar) help a garden/green witch to put him/herself in touch with the power of nature. Many times this can be a very direct and personal way such as with a fetch. Everyone has a familiar whether they know it or not. Most times the fetch that appears to us is symbolic of our ancestors. To keep your fetch, one must always listen. Most witches of a garden, hedge, green theme own several pets. Anything that helps to establish a divine and personal touch with nature is sure to surround a garden witch .Pets and familiars are different. A witch will keep their fetch private.

TYPES OF FAMILIARS:

1. Physical: Usually the animal or plant is in a physical form and lives with you or you are in frequent contact with it. These animals and even plants establish a psychic link with you and are good for warning you of danger. These type of familiars are usually pets. The witches familiar of a cat is probably the most popular stereotype. I have three cats myself, but then I also have a lop eared rabbit and a mutt of a dog.

2. Elemental: This is of nature, it can be a nature spirit, faerie or any mythological spirit such as a unicorn or dragon and it is used to inhabit an object for ritual or magickal use such as a crystal, magick mirror, talisman, wand. These elementals are called upon to help strengthen the magick and are not forced or imprisoned in objects. These elementals represent air, water, fire or earth.

3. Astral: This familiar will attach itself to you because it has qualities you lack and are in need of such as the case of an

4. Spirit(The Dead): Wiccans and witches usually do not practice summoning the dead, but the dead may appear to us in dreams, meditations or inner journeys. It is believed that the dead should be respected and if a spirit wants to help they can choose so as a spirit guide. The practice of communicating with the dead for help is different. This was a practice done many times by ancient people because they saw how close the two worlds were and that is was nothing to fear. The Celts used to sleep on barrow mounds which were built over ley lines in the first place and thus increased any kind of energy. To communicate with the dead for advice and to seek help is usually done on Samhain when the two worlds come close together. This time of the year is also to honor the dead and many cultures have this practice.

Respect is important to a familiar. They come to you to guide, help, warn and give you messages. These are all important and personal to you therefore you need to honor them and show respect by thanking them, leaving a token of some kind to your familiar on your alter. The experiences you have with your familiar are highly personal and many people may not understand the true inner meaning of them. To talk of the experiences you have with your familiar may show disrespect and it will lesson the magick you have with them and may even make them leave. I have mentioned my experience with a squirrel familiar only minimally on these pages, but that is only to let you know that I have had my own experiences and this is not something I am just reading and writing about. I have also had an experience with a plant familiar in the form of a rowan tree. I wrote about this on a page about magick trees. This was a spiritual healing experience. Healing begins inside then works its way outside. Healing begins on the spiritual plane before any results can manifest on the physical plane. More on healing here.

To attract a familiar of the astral kind all you need to do is meditate on a chosen familiar and to call for it. This does not mean the familiar will come to attend you because you call it. Familiars have a will and will come if they want to and feel they have something necessary for you. Sometimes they come for a short period and then leave, sometimes we call on a specific animal, but get another one entirely. And, some choose us whether we have any personal liking for them at all. The key to attracting a familiar is patience and listening with all your senses. They may come to you through a vision, meditation or dreams and they will leave subtle messages. Sometimes we may notice a certain feather that appears in our path more than usual, sometimes we dream of a plant because we need it for healing, sometimes during meditation we suddenly meet a spirit with a message, sometimes we notice that there are certain things in the house being disrupted or moved or even 'lost' because we are not listening and they are trying to get our attention. There are times you must listen with All your senses. Its a kind of opening up. Any experiences you have and do not understand, write them down in your book or journal because I can guarantee you that in a few days, weeks or a month that message will become very clear.

To call upon a familiar you must be acquainted with their qualities. I have a list of some deities you can look through, a page on faeries and some links you can follow to learn more about the faery wicca, a list of herbs and their properties, trees and flowers and some invocations you may use. Following is a list of animal helpers and their properties for shape-shifting.

The Watchers

01:13 Mar 19 2008
Times Read: 684

"those who are awake", The Elders, the ancient race of the watchers of the heavens

Also known as the Guardians, The Elder Race, Nephelim and Fallen Angels. The concept of The Watchers dates back to Sumer, but I believe the roots of this race are being traced back even farther to a cataclysmic time in our ancient past. Some people believe The Watchers are a race of people that came from the stars, hence why they are called The Watchers, because they watch the 'heavens'. The watchers were Shamans and were associated with serpents and vultures. They adorned themselves with feather capes. This may be the origin of 'angels' bearing wings.

The Watchers in the Middle East became outcasts because they appeared different and did not worship the same God as humans. The Jews, in The Book of Enoch refers to them in a negative way. Possibly around 3000BCE, there were several 'star' cults. Much of the Middle East, especially Persia (Iran) and the Nile Valley, the Magi would use the concept of spiritual watchers into their belief system. The Jews, heavily influenced by the concept of spiritual beings incorporated them into their belief system and soon there was an established hierarchies of Angels including Fallen Angels. In biblical terms, they are known as Fallen Angels, Sons of God and Demons.

.

Here are the more popular Wathers:

Aragiel- taught the signs of the earth

Aromaros-taught enchantments

Azazel- taught sword making

Ezequeel-taught knowledge of the clouds

Gadreel-taight the art of making weapons of war

Kokabeel-taught the mysteries of the stars

Penemue-taught writings

Sariel-taught knowledge of the moon

Semjaza-taught herbal enchantments

Shamshiel-

How does a Pagan belief have anything to do with Pre-Christian and Christian-Judaic concepts and beliefs in Angels and Sons of God? The history of Witchcraft is that of Magick and Sorcery and is traced back to Shamanism in Mesopotamia and the Middle East. The Magicians were called Magi. There were many Polytheistic belief systems at the time and a belief in spiritual beings and interaction with them was common. From here we get Egyptian Magick,Mesopotamia magick and cults, such has the Star Cults, the Vulture Cults and the Serpent Cults.

Around 500 BCE, the Celts met a lost tribe of people, called the Prytani. The Germans came to call them Elves and later Pixies and then that became Picts. Some people just called them Heathens, the ones who lived on the harsh heath. Whether this tribe has anything to do with travelers from the Middle East, I do not know, but The Celts wrote of many legends of different lost races.

This is a very brief explanation of the history and you may find more on the real origins of witchcraft and learn about the meanings of magi and magic. Magi is the oldest term I can find that means magician and reflects magic and sorcery. Wicca, wizard, wicce and witch come later in history and have their origins in old English. This brief explanation is meant to be an introduction into the incorporation of 'watchers', watchers of the tower, guardians, sons of gods, fallen angels, etc. and how it all ties in together.

Personally, I call them The Elder Race, a forgotten race of advanced and enlightened beings from an ancient civilization that became the scapegoat for religious superstition. Were they Starseed from another planet? I don`t know, but it is possible. We need to remember them because the past becomes our history. One day we may become that ancient civilization. Someday we may just be able to remember just how far back our 'roots' go. I am not arrogant enough to believe that we are the only civilization that has ever occurred on Mother Earth and we may not be the last when we do eventually fall.

It is also important to note the concept and importance of a 'watchtower' and 'watcher' in many religions, such as the tower of Babel, the towers of castles, the tower in the tarot, the name **"Magdalene" is said to mean, ‘watchtower’ or ‘tower of the flock’, there is said to be a royal bloodline of descendants of 'watchers', etc.. This also basically refers to a concept of a 'high place', a place to watch over. All these ideas and concepts I have presented here are basic and more details of them can be found on your own research.

It is important to learn, study and realize just how ancient the roots of magic, sorcery and witchcraft (not wicca, which is new, but does incorporate many witchcraft concepts) really is and just how much has changed throughout history.

THE WATCHERS

article by Raven Grimassi, Hereditary Witchcraft : Secrets of the... UK: Hereditary Witchcraft , Italian Witchcraft : The Old Religion of... UK: Italian Witchcraft , Encyclopedia of Wicca & Witchcraft UK:Encyclopedia of Wicca & Witchcraft, The Wiccan Mysteries : Ancient Origins &... ( pg. 97) UK: Wiccan Mysteries

In Italian Witchcraft the beings known as the Grigori (Watchers) are an integral aspect of the belief system. Over the course of many centuries the initiates of Italian Witchcraft have developed various signs and gestures that are recognized by the Grigori and indicate the presence of a trained Witch of the Old Religion. This intimate relationship between Grigori and initiate has been forged and nurtured by the Strega for countless generations. The ritual display of prescribed signs and gestures at the appropriate quarter grants passage by the Grigori and allows the initiate to gain access to the portals that lead directly into the Otherworld realms.

As guardians of the portals to such realms as the astral plane, the Grigori can negate magickal energy from manifesting there. This results in a failed magickal work or spell. The reasons why the guardians might intercede in such a manner are varied, but the Grigori bear the title "Guardians" for good reason. Non-initiates of Italian Witchcraft, and those to whom these inner mysteries have yet to reveal themselves, often dispute the role of the Grigori. Another erroneous claim made by non-initiates is that initiates of Italian Witchcraft believe their actions are "judged" by the Grigori, which is untrue and is based upon ignorance of authentic Italian witch beliefs and practices.

The appearance of the essential Grigori or Watcher concept, in the literature on Italic paganism, dates back to archaic Roman religion, which itself is derived from the Etruscans. Ovid, in his work titled Fausti, calls the Lare the "night watchmen." In archaic Roman religion small towers were built at the crossroads and an altar was set before them upon which offerings were given to the Lare. The Lare were guardian spirits associated with these towers and with demarcation in general, as well as seasonal themes related to agriculture.

In the early Stellar Cults of Mesopotamia there were four "royal" stars called the Watchers. Each one of these stars "ruled" over one of the four cardinal points common to Astrology. This particular system would date from approximately 3000 BC. The Star Aldebaran, when it marked the Vernal Equinox, held the position of Watcher of the East. Regulus, marking the Summer Solstice, was Watcher of the South. Antares, marking the Autumn Equinox, was Watcher of the West. Fomalhaut, marking the Winter Solstice, was Watcher of the North.

In Charles Leland's book Aradia he recounts the tale of "The Children of Diana, or how the fairies were born," in which it is stated that Diana created "the great spirits of the stars." In this book we also find a reference to an elder race: "...Then Diana went to the Fathers of the Beginning, to the Mothers, the Spirits who were before the first spirit, and lamented unto them that she could not prevail with Dianus. And they praised her for her courage; they told her that to rise she must fall; to become the chief of goddesses she must become a mortal."

Below is an excellent piece from an email I personally received.

snipsnip

The term Watchers is usually used to refer to a group of Angels called

the

Grigori (Grig-or-I) who were sent not to teach the arts, but to give

guidance and advice to human civilization though at the same time not

to

interfere with the natural development they would pursue. The arts,

such as

herbal medicines, metallurgy and smithing, etc., they were not to

reveal to

humans.

Contrary to popular belief, angels are in fact imperfect. The Grigori

took

husbands and wives and ultimately divulged the secrets of the arts in

order

to give further assistance to humans, which they felt would benefit

from the

knowledge. This led them to fail in their assigned task from our

creator

(whatever you wish the name it). The offspring of these matings were

the

Nephilim. Nephilim were what legends of Giants would later stem from.

Nephilim stood approximately 10-14 feet in height and were of such

beauty

one could not resist but approach them. Unfortunately for so many, the

Nephilim were damned, and each consecutive generation retained its

beauty

but the negativity (aka, evil among other labels) increased. They

could be

best described as demons.

The Nephilim began to be exterminated for their wickedness and plight

on the

lands and people, and the few remaining went into hiding. Around

90,000

B.C. it was surmised the last of the Nephilim were deceased. While the

precise date of their total and final destruction was never known,

skeletal

remains of two have been uncovered near the Himalayas.

The Grigori diminished sometime before 135,000 B.C., of that I am

positive.

The Nephilim, their offspring continued on for at least 30,000 years,

as, by

the time the Rama Empire was thriving circa 75,000 B.C. the legends of

Giants were already being discussed.

It is felt that The Watchers term came after the Grigori were

destroyed.

Though I am not clear, even with my own historical ties to them. If the

term

referred to the Grigori, their post-mortality (their destruction

included

having their divine powers stripped, becoming mortal, and inherently

reduced

to that of human), or it the term Watchers was adopted by what would

later

be known as the Ithuvians.

Circa 135,000 B.C. is the first time I know of Ithuvians existing by

this

name. The sect may have been created well before this, but I know of 1

Ithuvian who lived at this time. And there is a maximum total number of

169

Ithuvians world wide (at any given moment). However, Stomgrad was a

center

of business for the Ithuvians and was already constructed and in use at

135,000 B.C.. This structure was large and built of stone. I am not

allowed

to divulge location, type of construction, of any details about it.

Some of the above dates have not, and can not be verified as the

blasted

Christians burned all records so no one would be the wiser. However,

the

Nephilim were the offspring of the Grigori, and you do have the Grigori

names correct. I should add however, a total of 200 Grigori were upon

the

Earth, placed here by our creator (God, Yahweh, Martians, Diana,

whatever

one names god). The 200 Grigori were captained by the angels you have

named. As the term Watchers is associated with these angels, this may

be

correct although the term may be the initial name of the Ithuvians.

Eitherway, common association is to the Grigori and, as the Ithuvians

have

lived and done our task in secrecy, most of the time, since before

100,000

B.C. I'm more than happy the association remains so and that Ithuvians

are

not mentioned at all. The existence of Ithuvians only makes the task

increasingly difficult in a difficult world, as we found out once

before

when it was nearly destroyed.

There is one surviving account of the Grigori. They are referred to as

Watchers, though this account was written over 100,000 years after

their

fall by a notable Ithuvian. Admittedly, even we are not certain of the

Watchers original reference to ourselves or our predecessors. If you

are

curious to read the account, locate The Book of Enoch. Enoch was the

father

of Noah. If you can find it, and make sense of the period language, I

believe it will provide you with much insight.

HOME PROTECTION MIRROR SPELL

01:09 Mar 19 2008
Times Read: 686

Compose an altar: place a censer in the center before an image of

the Goddess. Have a twelve-inch (or so) round mirror there as well.

Ring the altar with nine white candles. Burn a protective incense

(such as sandalwood, frankincense, copal or rosemary) in the censer.

Beginning with the candle most directly before the Goddess image,

say these or similar words:

Lunar light protect me!

Repeat as you light each candle until all are glowing.

Now, holding the mirror, invoke the Goddess in her lunar aspect

with these or similar words:

Great Goddess of the Lunar Light

and Mistress of the Seas;

Great Goddess of the Mystic Night

and of the Mysteries;

Within this place of candles bright

and with Your mirror nigh;

Protect me with Your awesome might

while ill vibrations fly!

Standing before the altar, hold the mirror facing the candles so

that it reflects their flames. Keeping the mirror toward the candles,

move slowly, clockwise, around the altar, watching the reflected

firelight bouncing off your surroundings.

Gradually increase your speed, mentally invoking the Goddess to

protect you. Move faster and faster; watch the light shattering the

air, cleansing it, burning away all negativity and all lines along

witch the ill energies have traveled into your home.

Charge your home with the protective light of the Goddess. Race

around the candles until you've felt the atmosphere change, until you

feel that your home has been cleansed and guarded by the Great

Goddess.

When finished, stand once again before the image. Thank the

Goddess in any words you wish. Pinch out the candles one by one, bind

them together with white cord and store them in a safe place until

(and if) you need to use them again for this same purpose.

GODDESS BATH

20:48 Mar 17 2008
Times Read: 693

I came across this a while back and thought I would share, it is not my own recipe however it is a really nice one.

I hope you all enjoy..

Erzulie Freda is the Vodou lwa (something like a "goddess") of love, luxury, and wealth. I'd like to give you all a "recipe" for a bath made to please Erzulie Freda and attract love and wealth into your life. And no, you don't have to "believe in Vodou" and this won't make anything scary happen to you - but it might make that new boyfriend or girlfriend warm up to you, or make your spouse much more affectionate in a hurry! Obtain as many as you can of the following ingredients. If you can't find each and every one of the ingredients don't worry, do what you can.

Florida Water [floral cologne]

Fresh basil

Champagne

Rose petals

One small can of evaporated (NOT condensed) milk

Vanilla extract

Coconut milk

Orange leaves

Fresh lettuce

Fresh aloe

The fresh herbs and the lettuce should be thoroughly crushed in a basin of water which is then strained as it is poured into the bath. The Florida water, champagne, a few drops of vanilla extract and coconut milk can be poured directly into the bath water. Scatter the rose petals on the water's surface. Light a white or pink candle and bless the water before you bathe. Keep the water pleasantly cool, or at least not too hot. Frolic in it, splash and play. Ask Erzulie Freda, the Spirit of Love, to refresh you and cleanse you, and to give you happiness and abundance. When you get out of the tub, dry with a clean, newly washed and dried white towel, one you haven't used since it was last washed, you know? Put on a little cologne or perfume, and dress yourself in spotless white. Tie your head with white or pink.
