The Ultimate Vampire Resource and Directory

This week has been hell. We went to look at an apartment that is a bit further from our job then we would like but it was really nice. Even though it is far we are hoping to get it that way we can stop looking for places and start packing. Works been going fine except for a couple coworkers (if ya wanna know leave it in the comments). Like I mentioned in a previous journal my manager will bring in food for all of us every Saturday. Last Saturday it was sandwiches, chips and tuna salad with grapes. This Saturday was chicken Parmesan, toast and banana bread. Our manager is very kind and after everyone had their fill let Bear and I take home the left over spaghetti. We didn't even ask she just told us to take it so we would have something for supper. I love this job. Saturday night was a really easy night. I just had a couple of silver carts to stock then it was just bay directed packdowns. One aisle didn't even really need it so I got done a bit early. My manager just had me put back the shopping carts and take a flatbed and lumber cart over to the lumber aisle. Wednesday my manager brought in some pizza because she said we were doing such a good job. Unfortunately, Bear missed out because he went home early do to being too tired. At was a huge pepperoni and a little itty bitty cheese. And the cheese on both was THICK! No lie it was like cartoon pizza.

Well, shit hit the fan again. The property management that owns the house Bear and I live in just NOW got back to us saying he wasn't accepted and that they won't renew my lease. They want us out in like 2 days even though they just told us TODAY! Bear messaged them back saying we need 30 days to look for a place and move all our stuff and the creatures out. Good news is, Bear set up an appointment for us to see an apartment right by where we live for tomorrow at 2pm. Hopefully we can get it. We are never certain if we are going to be accepted into a place do to Bear being a felon. His felonies are both nonviolent but it still gives us trouble. I love him, though and I'm willing to stick by him no matter what. Even if it means having to live with roommates. I want to be with my Bear.

Last night was my first night at my new job. Unlike the managers at my old job the ones at my new job know how to manage a team. Once we clocked in Bear and I sat in the training room and waited for the others to show up. One of my new assistant managers (there's 5) started a team meeting by telling us who would be doing what. Most people still had training to do and the rest of us got assigned a department. I was in hardware with some guys and Bear was in electrics by himself for the most part. At the end of the meeting we all introduced ourselves along with whatever superpower we'd like to have. I chose pyrokinesis, the ability to create and control fire with my mind. I mean that would be a very useful superpower. Out camping and wanna light up a fire but ain't got matches? Boom, the bird's got you covered.

My job is pretty easy. Open boxes and stock up the merchandise. Our hardware aisles is also where you can find locks and I did that by myself. Most of the locks I was stocking were on the bottom shelves so I just sat on the floor, opening boxes and placing the locks on the shelves.

We get 3 breaks: 2 15 minute breaks and 1 30 minute lunch break. At my old job I didn't even got one break. I would go outside with Bear and sit next to him while he vapes. While I was working he would periodically come check on me and see how was doing. Tonight the manager is gonna bring stuff for sandwiches and some tuna salad. Bear is gonna have a normal salad since he is allergic to mayo. I like this job!

My orientation was today and went from 10am-2pm. All they had me do was my online onboarding, watch some videos and they gave a tour of the store. I got my schedule and starting tomorrow I will be working overnights (9pm-530am). I'm gonna have to stay up all night tonight and sleep during the day tomorrow that way I'll be able to wake up and stay up for work. The guy that was doing my orientation accidentally said I was going to be at the information desk and I didn't have the heart to correct him. He didn't find out I'm gonna be working overnight freight until another guy asked what my job will be. One of Bear's coworkers remembered me although for now she only knows me as "Bear's girlfriend".

I texted my current boss that I will not be finishing my 2 weeks (I still a week) and all he texted me was a peace sign. No asking why, no clarification, just deuce. Well, okay then.

I am both excited and not excited for my orientation tomorrow. Excited because now I have a new better paying job and I will be working alongside Bear. Not excited because of how early I have to wake up. I have to be up at 730 so I can take shower and get ready before I leave at 9 to catch a bus up to the store. The orientation will take about 3-4 HOURS but at least I'll get my schedule. I already know that for my first week I'll be going from 1pm-9pm for my training. After my training is all done with I'll get my new overnight schedule.

Have any of you checked out the database at all? It has a lot of great links, especially for goth/vampire related chatrooms. One of the rooms, Reign of Blood, is actually more of a sorta online vampire rpg site and I actually enjoy it. Unlike other rpg games/sites this one does everything for you. All you have to do is make wise decisions. I just completed my intro quests and joined a coven in the game. It seems pretty great especially for people, like me, who don't like having to actually battle a huge monster and lose.

In other news, I just saw a news report that my state is experiencing "excessive head". Best. Headline. EVER! LMAO!

As the headline states this is an update to my previous journal so if you haven't read that one I suggest doing so.

The guy who will be doing my orientation (since the lady who originally was supposed to do it is on vacation) got back to me this morning. We scheduled my orientation for this Thursday (2 days from today) at 10am my time. I was trying to go with the other option of next Tuesday at 1pm that way my current boss will have time to find someone to take my spot, but he said it would be easier for him to give me Thursday off. The orientation will take several hours to complete and then I will be given a schedule. I will need to do a week of day training which will be from 1pm-9pm but after that I will be switched onto the overnight freight crew and working alongside Bear.

I also received an email last night that my replacement social security card will be coming in 5-7 business days. Everything has just been working itself out and all my stress has started melting away. Now I can finally just relax and breathe.

In other news, Bear helped me dye my hair a really deep azure blue. He missed some spots so in some place it kinda looks like a rainbow but I dig it for the most part. I might just stay with the blue for awhile and the next time I dye it I'll teach him how to get everywhere coated.

My birth certificate has finally arrived! After all the stress of having to get it I finally got the notification that it has delivered. I texted the number the person who was supposed to do my orientation told me to and now I am just waiting on a reply back. I am so glad it is finally here! WOOHOO!

In other news, I ordered a three items (a pair of Stitch shirts and some underwear) off a Amazon (only two of which were ordered together) like a day or two part. The shirts were supposed to come on Wednesday and the underwear on Thursday. ALL THREE were delivered TODAY! I was confused at first when I looked at tracker to remind myself when they would come and saw that they had already been delivered. I was happy when I checked the mailbox and saw two packages in it. Today has been my lucky day.

I checked my email earlier this morning and I had an email saying my birth certificate was on its way. I clicked the link for the tracking info and signed up for text alerts telling me when it's here or of any unexpected delays (the thing is being flown from California to Utah). After I did all that I texted my current boss and the assistant manager my 2 weeks notice, my last day will be the 21st. As soon as my birth certificate arrives I'll be texting that number and setting up a time to go in for my orientation and get my schedule. Woohoo!

We got absolutely SLAMMED at work today! Apparently there was some big soccer game (I don't like soccer so I didn't care). We were short staffed so we closed the lobby at 10 instead of 11. We ended up running out of custard so we started closing down the coldline, and by the time 11 rolled around all I had to do was pop off the soda bibs, sweep, and deck scrub. I had to wait like an
hour and a half for my supervisor to finish so he could take me home. It's been getting hot lately. Today was 100 degrees and when we got in my supervisor's truck it said it was 85. It's only gonna get hotter but at least when I start my new job I won't always be wearing a thick black shirt.

My current boss ended up coming in to do something last night while I was at work, so I asked for new card. When he called to put in a transfer request the person that's supposed to be doing transfers was not answering the phone, so he called me into his office and told me to just hold on to the card and he will keep trying. Later during the night I got text from him on Messenger (he changed his phone number and I still haven't gotten it) saying the transfer request went through and to activate my card. As soon as I got home last night that is exactly what I did, and all my money (over $900) was transferred into my new card. I GOT MY MONEY BACK!

I just got off the phone with a representative from the vital records office in California (where I was born and raised). I gave her my new card number and it went through. They are processing my order and hopefully soon I will get an email with a delivery date for my birth certificate so I can finally quit this shitty job and start working with Bear. And I believe I have everything in for my social security card as well.

Speaking of Bear, he kept bugging me all last night. I called him to tell him I got the card and will be activating WHEN I GET HOME. While I was closing (10pm my time) he kept asking me to activate my card, saying he was hungry and wanted to get something off Uber Eats and have it sent to his job. I kept telling him I was too busy closing, that I wasn't able to do a proper preclose so I had a ton of stuff to do while closing. And while I was waiting in one of my supervisors' truck he texted me AGAIN asking for me to activate my card so he can get food. It was dark, I couldn't see. I also didn't want to get any trash in my supervisor's truck since he is being kind enough to take me home. All this asking and begging was getting on my nerves.

Don't get me wrong, I love Bear. He's the love of my life and truly believe he's my soulmate. But when he gets like this (begging me for/to do shit) it gets on my nerves.

So, I got an email about my birth certificate and it wasn't good. Ya see, since I had to deactivate my card Bear was supposed to be paying for me to get my birth certificate. But, for whatever reason, his card declined. Now I gotta call the place and give the a new card but I don't have one. I texted my current boss about it and he reminded that I could just get a new card from him (since that's how I got my last one). I am so damn forgetful. Not to mention, with all the stress and shit that's been going it totally pushed it outta my mind that I could've just asked my boss for a new card. When I go in to work Friday (since I work tomorrow but he doesn't) I'll get a new one from him.

I woke up yesterday with a text from the lady at Bear's job who is supposed to do my orientation. She wanted an update on my birth certificate. I let her know that I had turned in a notary on Saturday and was just waiting for them to review everything (the site said it would take 1-2 business days). I am going to assume she forgot about her deadline because she told me to just text the number she was texting me from as soon as I get my birth certificate and someone else will get me set up with my first day activities (she is going on vacation). When I read that I showed Bear and breathed a sigh relief. He asked if I felt better now since he knew I've been stressing over it (that's my Bear always making sure I'm ok) and I said I was. I should, hopefully, know sometime today if my documents have been successfully reviewed and my birth certificate is being shipped. If not today then maybe tomorrow. Hopefully.

I gave my current boss and assistant manager both an update. The assistant manager said I should I just call my boss and turn in my two weeks now, but I told them I'd much rather wait until I know when my birth certificate is being shipped. That way I still have a job in case shit hits the fan.

The 4th of July (America's Independence Day) has come and I hope every one of my fellow Americans here on VR had a happy and safe holiday. Alas, we cannot ignore what happened today in Chicago, Illinois.

A rooftop shooter in Chicago, Illinois opened fire at 4th of July parade. 6 parade-goers are confirmed dead with nearly 40 wounded. The police have arrested a possible suspect but it still saddens me that an event meant to celebrate a major holiday in America was tainted in death and blood loss. It angers me that a man decided to go shoot up a parade where there were young children and elderly, men and women. It angers me that on a day meant for celebration and cheer, people were left fearing for their lives. How many more men, women and children have to die? How many more holidays must be tainted in death and blood loss before our lawmakers decide to pass stricter gun control laws?

An 8 year old girl has died after being struck by a parade float in Kaysville, Utah. The young girl was a performer in the parade when the accident took place. It is uncertain as to whether young girl fell off the float or was walking beside it when she was hit. An investigation is still ongoing as to the cause.

My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims of the mass shooting in Illinois, as well as, the family of the little girl that died here in Utah.

Forgive if this isn’t what you want to hear, but which laws would have stopped the shooter? Illinois is already a state where firearm ownership is licensed, taxed and regulated very heavily.

In the i.t. world there is a saying; never use hardware solutions to fix software problems.

I as well am horribly grief stricken by these senseless deaths.

I am one step closer to get my birth certificate, but I doubt I'll make the deadline. I need to have it by Tuesday and with the 4th of July being tomorrow (America's Independence Day for anyone who doesn't know) I most likely may not have it until later in the week. I probably won't know when it's been shipped until Tuesday/Wednesday since it takes about 1-2 business days for them review the document I sent in and, like I said, tomorrow is an American holiday a lot of places will either be closed or closing early. I went in yesterday to a UPS store to have the document notarized and I'm certain that's the only thing I need. Even if I don't get my birth certificate by the deadline I can still reapply really quickly when I do get it. It's been set as a priority (since I do need it for employment) and will be arriving from California via UPS Air. I might see if it would be possible to get an extension on the deadline once I know for sure when my birth certificate has been shipped. Bear will probably see what he can do on the inside (keep a spot open for me, talk to his superiors, etc.) since he really wants me to get a job there.

Not too long after I woke up yesterday I got a text from my current boss asking for an update. I told him I had to get a notary done for my birth certificate since the state of California requires it. Even though I live in Utah I still had to get a notary since I was born and raised in California. He asked me why I didn't already have my birth certificate and I told him. My mother, the night she kicked me out, refused to hand me all my important documents (birth certificate, social security card, hs diploma). I hadn't needed them until now since the job I'm at currently already has all my documents on file from when I first worked here. I told him about the deadline and he said he hopes I don't get it so he can give me a raise, make me a trainer (the next step up from crew member), and maybe in a few months a supervisor. It still angers me that the moment I bring up the possibility of me leaving he wants to give me a raise and a promotion when I have been working for OVER A YEAR and hadn't got a single one. I told him we'll see and that if I don't get it by the deadline I will reapply (Bear will probably help me again).

He asked what would I do if they don't have anymore positions and I said I'll apply for another job in the area. The apartments Bear and I want to move to is in such a primo spot there are plenty of job opportunities. He asked if we were moving and I told him we planned to and told him about the apartments. I said if we do move it won't be until next month since that's when they'll have an apartment open for us. I also casually said if they ever needed me to work doubles on Thursdays while I'm still here, I can. The past two Thursdays I have had to clock in as soon as I got to work because the assistant manager and one of the superiors were slammed and they needed help.

I'm working tonight and I got a feeling it's gonna be busy, but I ain't gotta work tomorrow! Woo Hoo!
