Here is a list of books I am collecting for the next Gens.
Some books I am getting first because I love the author or have been advised to get them, most I still have to read.
If after I read them and I decide I didn't love it, I'll just trade it in and take it off the list.
Note that there are a lot of books I have read that are not on the list. I will put them on as I buy them.
The list will be a bit dysfunctional for a bit ok?
Someday it might even be in alphabetical order! Yeah right.....

My grandmother on my dad's side died December 4 2007. Our last conversation was 3 days before. she could barely speak but she told me there was a big storm in Idaho right now and she wanted me to promise to stay safe. We all knew the end was near and where in a scramble to make it to Idaho to see her. That was the last thing she wanted, she loved us but didn't want to cause us the trouble. So we didn't.
Her burial wishes were to be cremated and have her ashes scattered in the Idaho wilderness. She left all responsibility to her youngest Son my Uncle David. He was to take her ashes alone, she wanted no place for anyone to visit. She also didn't want everyone to try to get together right before Christmas. She wanted a simple memorial sometime in the spring/summer when we could all get together. So about 6 months later we did.
We camped at Big Elk Creek outside of Swan Valley Idaho. She had always loved camping, so thats what we did, about 20 of us. Friday-Sunday. Saturday we gathered around the fire and talked about me Grandmother, her humor and caring. Uncle Ray told us that even in her last hours she was thinking of everyone. Having lived in a different state all my life I never felt as close to her as some of my cousins that saw her all the time, but every few and far between years we would visit and I new that the space didn't matter to her. She loved me and I loved her. But I still didn't believe the blanket statement of 'Everyone" when My Uncle said it.
Sunday night we stayed at my Uncle Rays house. He also lives in Idaho and took a lot of my Grandmas care upon himself. We went through some of her old pictures. If we where in it, we could have them. Thats what my grandmother had said.
I flipped through a album that was strictly the Grandchildren. And there I was. 3 whole pages of me, in my place of honor as second oldest. My mother was never vary good with sending pics but everyone she had was there. My sister has even less pics then me because my mom then got bad at even developing pics as my sister grew up, but she was there too. In some pics with me and some vacation photos from when all the kids visited us in phoenix.
I believed my Uncle. She probably did think of me and my sister.
Being on a family trip doesn't give you much privacy, but we had a 4 hour drive till we got to Salt Lake UT to take a plane home. I took the back of the rented Minivan all to myself. So 6 months later I finally got closer, my Grandma was gone. I silently cried my self to sleep.
