Chapter 10 –
Calli awoke some time later, a strange coppery taste in her mouth, she sat up. She felt so alive, what was this new sensation she thought to herself, then she had remembered what Victor had said to her, her senses have been becoming more in tune since he had made her a vampire, now she thought they must be fully adjusted.
Victor came into the room with Brandon and hugged Calli, handing her son to her. “Thank you.” She said, her voice still horse, holding Brandon in her arms. “I still can not believe that he is so important… Or that he could cause so much trouble. Why do the were wolves want him dead anyway?” She enquired. Victor just smiled, he had known that this question would come sooner or later, he just had not expected her to ask it so soon.
Calli sat up then took Brandon to his cot. Victor came behind her and took her hand “Why don’t we go somewhere else to discuss this.” He led her threw a number of passages until they had reached the surface. It was a beautiful clear night, the stars twinkled in the sky as the moon shone bright reflecting off the droplets of water which sat upon the leaves. The eventually came to a rock which they climbed up, from up here they could see for miles around.
Victor sat down which Calli next to him, holding her in his arms. “You see over there…” he said pointing somewhere in the distance. “That is where they live, their pack. You see a few years back they kidnapped a young woman called Sky, their leader Deacon had supposedly rescued her from death although she did not remember a thing. She was in a relationship with Zach at the time, but deacon did not know this.” He paused for a moment.
Calli looked at him “what’s this got to do with Brandon?” Victor looked on. “Well you see it all links in to an old prophecy known to few. Deacon is one of those few. He felt that he had to keep Sky away from us, because she is one of those who is said to link the vampires and the werewolves together. Deacon did not want this and he had drugged his pack with lies and hatred. He thought that the joining of the vampires and werewolves to be highly offensive to their ancestors.” He paused again.
“Brandon is also one in the prophecy, a young child, the son of the vampire leader. Deacon told his pack that he was going to be the end of the werewolves and must be exterminated. But he is not, he, along with Sky and the twins will be the end of this, and once again we may live without fear.” Victor looked at Calli wondering whether she had understood what he was trying to explain. “But how? What will Brandon do? Will he be ok?” Victor looked at her again. “It is uncertain, there are no details on how they will end this, all we know is that together they will.”
Calli’s eyes welled up, she could not bare for her son to be in danger, she did not know what she would do without him. She would be lost. Victor pulled her close to him and kissed her on the cheek “It will be ok, I will do whatever I can to protect him.” Calli started to cry, clinging on to Victor, how could he do this to her?
The sky began to get lighter, Victor had noted this and said “we must go back now, best check on Brandon.” They slowly got up and wandered back inside. Then Calli rushed to Brandon her anger was building up, why was Victor doing this to them, why Brandon? She cuddled him, what would she do without him?
Chapter 11 –
There was a knock at her door, Sky quickly got out of the bath and threw on her dressing gown. “Come in” she called. She looked in surprise at the door. It was not Deacon standing there, but then again she may or guessed that by the fact that he had knocked, it was Zeke. He looked at her “I’m sorry, I didn’t think that you would… I will go, sorry to disturb you.”
Sky smiled “It’s ok, it was a nice surprise to see you here.” Sky went and sat on her bed, Zeke following her. “I’m sorry for intruding, I was just worried about you, are you ok?”
Sky smiled again “Yes, I’m fine.” She hugged Zeke “Just haven’t been feeling myself recently…”
“I noticed” he said. “Congratulations on your engagement.” Sky sighed looking down at her feet. “You still love Zach don’t you?” Sky nodded. “It will all work out, you will see.” Sky yawned.
“I’m a bit tired.” She said as she lay down facing the ceiling, Zeke lay down next to her. Sky then rested her head on his chest as they continued talking. She had always found it easy to talk to him, slowly his arm crept round her and hers on his chest. She had forgotten all about Deacon. “Have you been avoiding me recently?” Zeke questioned. Sky felt guilty and shook her head. “No, it’s not that, I have just been a bit preoccupied. My thoughts and emotions have been all over the place. You know I would never ignore you, not after all you have done for me…”
He cuddled her smiling “You know I will always be here for you if you need me, I care about you so much, your like a little sister to me..” Sky smiled “A little sister who is older than you?” she giggled. They continued chatting for a while and soon Sky was fast asleep, Zeke left laying there drifting off himself.
Suddenly the door opened and a deep voice shouted “Hunny I’m home!” Sky awoke, sitting up and looking round to see Deacon standing there. Where was Zeke she thought. “All freshened up for me, that’s what I like to see… In your nice silk dressing gown too” Deacon said sitting next to Sky and sliding his hand up her leg. Sky pulled away and stood up.
“Aww what’s the matter baby, you nervous, you know I won’t hurt you.” He smirked and got up behind her, grabbing her round the waist and pressing up against her, kissing her neck as she tried to get free. “You know I’m stronger than you, you may as well give up now. Because there are one of two ways we can do this. The easy way, and the hard way.” He paused “The easy way is that you just let me do as I please and you go along with it….” There was a pause as Deacon grinned “Or the hard way… where I just do as I please anyway and there would be no way of stopping me… Its up to you my precious...”
He then walked round in front of her, placing a hand either side of her head. “So what it is to be?” He kissed her, Sky did not resist. He then unbuttoned his shirt, throwing it on the floor, then guided her hands down to undo his trousers as he sliding her dressing gown off her shoulders, throwing the cord to by the bed. Then he pulled off her dressing gown, pushing her onto the bed. “Do you know what…. I think I preferred the hard way” Deacon said winking as he reached for the cord to her dressing gown, Sky curled up into a ball wondering what she had done to deserve this.
“You stupid girl!” he said hitting her “lay down properly…” A tear rolled down her cheek as she did what he said. Deacon then bound her hands together and tied them to the headboard of the bed. He grinned as he leant down to kiss her. “Your all mine now…”
