I have a few bees in my bonnet today and I am feeling a little grim as well. Not sure why, I just am.

After doing my usual log in stuff it has become clear to me that I cannot enjoy my usual activities online this morning because people are ignorant as hell. If I see one more Thank You to soldiers posted on facebook I may puke.

Memorial Day is to honor the DEAD not the living. Not only is it to honor the DEAD but it is for the people who died while in service to our country during times of war! It is not for the person who served during peace and then died after retirement. It is not even for the ones who served in war and survived countless battles only to die of old age. It was set up specifically as a day of remembrance for the soldiers who died defending my right to be an asshole and your right to be ignorant.

This is not to be confused with Veterans Day which originally was meant to honor the servicemen who died or served in World War 1 by spreading a feeling of peace and community throughout our nation on the anniversary of Armistice.

In today's world Memorial Day is a day for visiting the grave sites of dead soldiers. Veterans Day is a day of support and unity, a chance to show Patriotism by extending the hand of community to local veterans and let them know they are appreciated.

Why do so many people get this confused or not know the difference?

Good news and hopefully I wont be made to regret it. Last night a friend sent money so I can replace my keyboard. I did not ask for help, she just gave it out of kindness because we are friends and she says I have been supportive.

I can only hope that this does not lead to bullshit and drama.
