I took a short break from VR this week and visited a Cafe full o' moms instead. I have been a parent for 15 years and I never realized how catty and evil mothers could be to each other and I was a "skate mom"!

Yeah, my daughter competed in ISI sanctioned events until she was 7 and I could no longer afford it.

They make VR look like a church picnic when it comes to grammar and spelling taunts and ridicules over stupidity. I love speaking my mind on some of the hot button posts just to see if I can get attacked by a pack of shrews.

I have never seen such a group of people who have more concern over a child's name than they do the child's safety. Some of these moms of 2 or more toddlers are on there all day too, so what are their babies doing while they are at the computer or texting? I am so glad I didn't have a computer when my kids were babies.

Wow!

wow...brings back memories of when my daughter was a cheerleader and I was the parent standing back shaking her head at how catty the other Moms were. Some woman can be vicious, lol.

Tried my very first rye bread tonight. It did not go well. It didn't rise high enough(then one of the cats stepped on it through the towel over it).

It's baking right now and it smells like bread but I am thinking perhaps I have time to try it one more time. I think I needed to use more yeast.

Hopefully I will become active again in the next day or so. I expect tomorrow I will be woken early to go walking around the flea market but Monday the kids will be back to school and I will be posting journals and talking to people again.

This week has been very exhausting. The kids were on spring break this week and they had a friend over. This is nice for them but for me having a kid in the house who tries to override all of the safety measures I have in place for my daughter is a huge pain in the ass. We also said goodbye to a man who has for the last year been such fun to know. He passed away on Wednesday and the funeral was Friday. Myth took the day off.

It has been frightfully warm for this time of year even as other parts of the US are in the 50's and this wreaks havoc on our POS AT&T connection, hopefully this will be remedied in the coming month or so.

I have missed everyone; pleasant and unpleasant. I hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend.

HUGS

Causes and fund Raisers for the month of April

There pick your purpose or cause or tax write off.

None is more important than another except one; Earth DAY. The Earth gets and entire day; isn't it amazing? The planet upon which we live gets the same sentiment as your mother or your father. Send a card and hope it is biodegradable.

When I decided to decorate my profile for the month, post links and stories; and comment on people's I profiles I was really proud of myself. I knew for years about the events my mother attends but it wasn't until last April through facebook that I learned there was a month devoted to helping people understand kids and adults like my brother. That is how little I hear and see about it.

I hoped people would read and become a little more knowledgeable.

I expected some people to be annoyed, outright angry and perhaps shallow.

What I did not expect was for people to say that these kids did not matter. They don't matter?

Ok, let's go down the list:

1. National Volunteer Week(Inspire by example)-done

2. Earth Day-I can clean the neighbors trash from my yard(again).

3. World Health Day-Does that include mental? I spend every day caring for a Diabetic with Arthritis and Post Traumatic Stress.

4. National Autism Awareness month- I believe people are aware of this one.

5. Autism speaks

6. National Child Abuse Prevention Month- I am a survivor of child abuse and my opinions on the subject are frankly not what people would want to hear.

7. Cancer Control month- a very close friend has lost more family to rare forms of Cancer than anyone I know and my Uncle is a Cancer survivor; out of pure chance my mother's blood was a perfect match.

8. Counseling Awareness Month- I will stay silent except to say that for some people counseling can be beneficial.

9.IBS Awareness month- I have close friends with IBS.

10. National Occupational Therapy month-The American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) is the nationally recognized professional association of approximately 35,000 occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants, and students of occupational therapy. Practitioners work with people experiencing health problems such as stroke, spinal cord injuries, cancer, congenital conditions, developmental problems, and mental illness. Occupational therapy helps people regain, develop, and build skills that are essential for independent functioning, health, and well-being.(I did copy and paste that)

11. Sexually Transmitted Diseases Awareness month-As a parent and as the sister of a cervical cancer survivor this is extremely important to me. My sister has three beautiful daughters and works very hard despite 3 life threatening pregnancies during which time the Cancer would spread.

12. National Youth Sports Safety Month

13.National Porphyria Week- this is a vampire site; if you don't know what Porphyra is look it up.

I chose Autism because I feel that family is the most important thing in the world. Because of my geographic location, financial situation and the Domestic violence which led to the change in my geographic location I cannot be there for my brother Carlo. So I wanted to show my support of him and his biggest Advocate.

Cancer, violence and petcare are all important too; they are all highly visible but no one wants to think about why the kid in the store is throwing a fit, they just want him to shut up.

I am not selling anything.

I am not asking for validation.

I am not here to please anyone.

I am not going to change anything because people disagree with me, this is community and we should be supporting each other; not tearing each other down.

Oh my gosh is my face red!

This morning I edited my profile for Autism Awareness month and I used Safari because at the moment it is all I have on my Apple since firefox took a shit.

I was just looking at it from IE right as my son came in to use the computer that has IE on it and I have this huge empty space! ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!

I will try to fix it later tonight after he goes to bed.

I am so embarrassed.
