I suppose the same thing that united Republicans behind McCain is also working for Obama. When the "liberal media" actually started asking questions about their once favorite politician- Limbaugh, ORielly, Coulter- they stood together and blasted the media for suggesting that McCain had an improper relationship with another woman- a lobbyist.
As a staunch supporter of Clinton, I have a laundry list of why I don't think Obama is the best person for the job -when compared to Hillary. I could pause and linger over the reasons, but who has time when I'm having to explaining yes Obama does say the Pledge of Allegiance. Yes he puts his hand over his heart. The only reason he stopped wearing an American Flag pin was a commentary on how so many politicians wear them and act against average American interests (ie the Iraq war, health care legislation, no government regulation of the housing market, no regulation of predatory lending, poor disaster responses etc). Obama did after all support a GI Bill that would take care of the Vets in proper fashion (McCain didn't). Yes he is a Christian -haven't we figured that out from the Wright scandal? He did not go to an Islamic Fundamentalist school as a child. There are even people passing around rumors that Obama is not a US citizien. He is.
Most of those are old rumors that have been put to rest for anyone who actually looks beyond an email forward. In the past couple of days though Fox News has calls Michelle Obama "Obama's baby mama." Apparently also they think that Michael Jordan, Bush Sr, and a whole lot of today’s youth are secret terrorist because of "fist bumping."
For anyone who wants to take on Michelle Obama and think that she is fair game? Why don't we just remind everyone how McCain views his First Lady hopeful "At least I don't plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you cunt.” McCain’s words- not mine.
I wonder-if people actually attacked him on his policies or hell even talked about the two's stances-would I be this defensive? When it comes to the issues, there is a night and day difference and I would be rallied to Obama's camp just by the nature of the shared idea of which direction this country needs to go.
“It’s just a goddamned piece of paper!” President Bush on the importance of the U.S. Constitution.

"Let them eat cake!" And they executed her.
The power of propaganda is horrifying, we'd do best to think for ourselves.
Blasphemer!
Obama does regularly place his hand over his heart during the pledge of allegiance, and there are swarms of misinformation being circulated on the web about Obama patriotism. Don't believe everything you see and hear.
BTW the hand over the heart is symbolic... there is nothing symbolic about spitting on the document that has governed and protected the rights of America since the second constitutional convention. Bush was sworn into office on the oath of upholding the Constitution.
Yesterday was a sad for 18 million others and me. I was transfixed and mesmerized while a groundbreaking heroine stood before the world to lay down her claims to the democratic presidential nomination. Senator Clinton’s words left me in tears- who knows when the next time will be that a woman will make it this far in a government that still resembles and old boys club. But at least now the glass ceiling is cracked for another trailblazer. As I watched her deliver a well-crafted speech, I couldn’t help by notice how beautifully strong Hillary Clinton is. It was strange to hear “Yes we can” come out of her lips without the crowd doing its usual “yes she can” cheer. Clinton has fought for over 35 years for the welfare and advocacy of the children, the sick, the old, the forgotten, the unemployed, and for a better America. I don’t ever see her quitting on the issues or on us.
She could have fought all the way to the convention- she did have the popular vote on her side as well as a laundry list of why she would be the best candidate. I think we like forgetting the 2000 debacle when everyone screamed that the popular vote for Al Gore should have earned him the nomination or at least encouraged him to fight a little bit harder. But no, Clinton gracefully bound out to ensure party unity. I don’t know if Obama can win in November; he doesn’t stand a chance though without Hillary advocating on his behalf.
I truly hope Obama can make his lofty dreams work in D.C. and around the United States. Our country and all of its residents cannot afford four more years of failed economic leadership or a blunder that has resulted in thousands of good men and women dying. The ball is in Obama’s court, and if he can’t deliver on the white house or the changes he campaigns on- we are truly fucked.

:( She made history.
I don't think he stands a chance with Hillary - you can't stand on a platform for change with the ghost of an ex-President following you everywhere.
Politics is a patriarchy - designed by men for men. The fact that gloval governance could be enhanced by a more female approach more generally has yet to sink in. Hillary wouldn't have been a banner-bearer for women - she would just play a malegame. We have had a female leader - Margaret Thatcher - her gender was irrelevant to the political decisions she made. Will we have another? I would like to think so, but the majority of ministers recently of both genders have appeared to be quite inferior. The best talent heads for the private sector these days.
Isn't this a strategic move? I mean when Obama fails surely the opposition will come into power? Or has she resigned from politics altogether?

To me, they all are each just heads of the hydra.
