I have to admit that I didn't foresee McCain stooping so low as he has. I was someone who truly considered voting for him back in 2000, but that was when McCain had a much more honest appeal to him.
Now he is a man who appears more desperate and willing to do or say anything to smear Obama. But contrasting Obama in the same light as Brittney Spears and Paris Hilton in a new ad- you've got to be kidding me.
Yeah um, McCain is and always has been a um (insert adjective).
I can't stand either JM or BO but I'd rather have a guy who has more than just war service as an honorable experience and all the rest trash. At least BO is a nice guy and doesn't "flip-flop" anywhere near as much, my opinion :)
I'll go make the bumper stickers! "Meeper '08" "A world without Whelps"....

Let's give money so he can get it up, but not for the consequences. In other words, men have sex at will and women keep your legs crossed and have a good attorney to keep the money coming from the baby's daddy.
Hah! See- he is a... *bites tongue* I miss Hillary! She at least made it fun.

It's officially holiday time. Got everything accomplished today that I wanted to, and now it is time to locate a twisted tea and start celebrating our independence.
I wonder though how many of our patriotic parties are more of a display of dependency on alcohol, burgers, hot dogs, and all the other unhealthy American traditions of gluttony. I am not exception to the rule since I will be enjoying all of those things tomorrow and driving a nice gas-guzzler to the fireworks.
So my mind is on Independence Day, patriotism, and the government George Washington et all created. One of my favorite documents of all time is the Declaration of Independence because it gives the lofty ideals that define American values, government, and way of life.
What exactly does it mean to be an independent country with a government that is represented by the people and for the people? I often wonder how the founding fathers would view our American culture. We have come so far from the Revolutionary War where every American resident wagered their life and took sides in a fight for fair government. When did we become so lazy and indifferent to the ruling hands that we no longer protest unconstitutional taxes (i.e. income tax) and invasions of privacy and property? In the civil war and both the world wars, our country stood behind the soldiers and the government. Factories switched from common goods to war supplies, people purchased war bonds, grew victory farms, and pitched in to the efforts. Why? Because we are one nation, one government, and one people. We were outraged during Vietnam and so many soldiers returned to us in coffins, but in the previous wars- we were quiet, respectful, and realized the hardships and the sacrifices made by not just the military- but by every single American to achieve an objective the entire country believed in and sacrificed for.
I love my country, and I truly hope one day we find ourselves back on the same track our founding fathers fought so hard to establish. All we have to do is speak up and hold our public officials accountable. It is our country, our government.
Read the John Adams book by David McCullough. Oh god, it is so amazing. I even got the audio book from library loan and cried through parts of it. It is stunning, especially some of the letters he wrote to his wife. A MUST read!
Where can I sign up to get 62 days of paid vacation a year?

"The Daily Show turned its attention Wednesday to presidential vacations, commenting briefly on French President Nicolas Sarkosy's visit to President Bush in Kennebunkport before asking "Senior Western White House Correspondent" Samantha Bee about Bush's return to Crawford, TX.
"This place is abuzz with expectation," said Bee excitedly. "It's no longer a question of if the president will break the record, but when."
"Most vacation days taken by a sitting president," Bee explained when Jon Stewart asked what record she meant. "People said that Reagan's 436 would stand forever, but right now, as you can see, this president stands on 423, meaning his record should fall less than two weeks from today. And they said it shouldn't be done."
This story (along with the video clip) can be found in its entirety here.
Please note this was taken from August 2007. Since then Bush has handily taken over the record of most vacation days ever taken by a sitting President...and to think he has the audacity to suggest that Congressional members aren't working hard enough.
