Dear Unborn,
I am sorry for the part I played in leaving the world in the state in which you find it.
I am sorry that the beautiful, unspoiled natural places are now so few and far between that you may never experience their splendor.
I am sorry that my quest to fly higher and drive faster have fouled the air you breathe and made the atmosphere too hot.
I apoligize for my desire and demand for cheap consumer goods, without regarding the real cost to the planet and its people.
I'm sorry that my blood-lust for red meat, chicken and fish everyday while other are starving, has helped perpetuate enviromental degradation and empty the oceans of every living creature.
I regret not having more consideration for themountian or waste I leave behind for you to deal with.
I'm sorry that , because of my actions you may never know the pleasure of drinking pure water from a sparkling mountian stream. I apoligize for falling for the lie, that in order for me to be someone I have to have everything.
I am sorry that I could not convince my leaders to spend more on health, education, and looking after the enviroment and less on guns and killing machines.
I'm sorry that my generation never learned to love and could not secure peace on this planet for your generation.
I am sorry that when you asked me what I was doing to make change when all was going awry, I cant honestly answer "Everything I possibly could."
I am deeply sorry that in order for me to have more, I have left you with less.
Yours Sincerely,
20th Century Man
P.s. I pray that by the time you read this note, you wonder what on earth I am apoligizing for as the change I made and the love I gave has turned the world back into the beautiful, peaceful, healthy planet it was always intended to be.
