I'm honestly curious to know how people get through life not knowing the difference or how to spell words. Did you never have to write anything in school? Do you not have to write things that other people read for your career? Like, I legitimately want to know how you get by in life thinking a lot and allot are interchangeable, how you don't know the correct version of your or you're or two, to, and too to use. If someone could enlighten me on how someone can be fine going through life writing like a fucking moron, I'd love to know.
So, I've gotten pretty much everything for my Ren Faire garb ordered. I'm just missing a good bodice. I'm holding off on that because a good one that's reversable with steel boning can cost upwards of $300. So, I've been hesitant on ordering one. Worst case scenario, if I get the job, I can always rent a bodice for the first weekend, and then maybe see what's available at Faire itself. I know a lot of the stalls and I've looked at their Etsy stores and websites and such, but it would be easier just to do it all in person if I'm dropping that kind of money on something. The skirts, the tops, those aren't as big a deal if I get them wrong. If they're too big, those are easy fixes. But, you don't want to get a bodice that's too big, it won't sit right. It should, in all retrospect, fit you like a glove with proper measurements. Something made smaller can work, since you lace it up anyway, so there is some wiggle room. But if it's too big, you can't really fix that. So, I don't know. But, I got everything else. Four new skirts, two gauze over skirts and two pretty hefty cotton underskirts, two new chemises, a new leather belt, a pair of skirt hikes, two leather pouches, a tankard strap, and I found an absolute steal on two vintage pewter pint tankards that fit the look perfectly, as well as a little dangly bead decoration to put on the handle of whichever tankard I use. So, everything's coming along nicely. It's just that bodice. It would be easiest to just order one from Etsy, but I'm just super hesitant about it. The ones at Faire aren't made especially well, and if they are, they are crazy expensive because it's Faire. But... I am just so paranoid about getting something wrong on the measurements and wasting all that money.
Still no word on my lost package. I had given it a few days in the hopes that it might show up by some miracle. But, nope. So, tomorrow, when the mail carrier comes, I'm going to have a word with them, see if we can't figure out what's happened. If it went to someone else, I'll see if I can get that information and get my stuff back. Like i said, it's $300 worth of Ren Faire garb, and it really upsets me that for the first time, with such an important package, it just goes missing. I got another two deliveries no problem, but the big one, it's still MIA and I want to know what happened to it. The seller no longer has the items in stock, I sent her a message and asked about it, so it would just be a refund. But... I don't want a refund, I want the items I ordered and paid for. It's just an aggrivating situation.
Well, I'm pissed. One of my packages containing some of my Ren Faire garb says it's been delivered, but I haven't actually received it. I checked my mailbox, a key was left for one of the larger parcel boxes, checked the one I had the key for, nothing. I'm fucking livid. Check out front thinking they left it on the proch, nothing. This is nearly $300 worth of gear that has just up and gone fucking missing. So now I have to get in contact with the USPS and figure out where the fuck my clothing is and why it wasn't left where it should have been left. Fair is in a month and I wanted to make sure I had all my stuff before then so I could make any needed adjustments. But now I have to deal with the postal service and they aren't the quickest to get shit done. I don't know if I'll even get my package or if it was delivered to someone else who just doesn't care to get it to me. I don't know if they'll honor a claim and I'll probably have to spend another $300 before they do to reorder what I had already ordered, hope to God the seller still has stock, because she was low when I placed my order and Faire season is already upon us in other places. It's a whole fucking thing now. I am not happy.
