Laying on the beach listening to the rours
White salty sand covering the ocean shores
Feeling the ocean breeze cross my face
Calming my mind laying in this place
Thinking of the days when I was a child
Running around playing and laughing so wild
Closing my eyes and hearing the children play
Thinking back to my younger day
Running with friends kicking up sand
Pretinding that we was in a defferent land
The ocean was as green as green counld be
All of the animals was make believe
Dragons and faries and all of us queens
Our days never ended so that it seems
Night is approaching all the children leave
All with drowsy eyes ready to sleep
Now looking at the stars, all is still
Except for the waves crashing at will
Listening to the crash and smelling the night air
Looking at the stars with no worries nor care
Thinkg back once again as a child
Watching the stars with my mother so mild
Her pulling me close, like a mother would
Pointing to each star she'd give me if she could
Whispering in my ear of stories so fond
Remembering that dear motherly bond
Another crash brings me back to where I am
A tear in my eye feeling like a grain of sand
Looking up at the stars feeling so cold
All grown up now, no mother to hold
Now me the aduld and my mother the child
Holding her so close so tender and so mild
Thinking back to all of the things she would say
A star shoots by and with that I pray
A childs prayer that my mother had told
Sitting together hands that we hold
"Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray the lord my soul to keep
if I should die before I wake
I pray the lord my soul to take"
