I'm really hoping no one got in trouble for this. A few days ago I stopped in at my local McDonalds for a sandwich for lunch. In line in front of me was an extremely abusive customer who gave the server behind the cash register nine kinds of hell for no apparent reason except that maybe he took pleasure in ruining someone else's day (the situation being what is was, he may have been a racist as well, who knows?). I thought the server did everything he could to pacify the customer, politely, until it became clear the customer wouldn't be happy and so called for the manager.
I left the restaurant (I use the term loosely here) and returned to my office and shot off an email to McDonalds Corporate (yes, to Ronald himself), expressing how impressed I was with both the server and the manager for putting up the the irrationally irate and abusive customer, referencing both the server and the manager by name.
Today I received, via snail mail, a letter from McDonalds Corporate, offering sincere apologies for my "unsatisfactory recent visit to Store #905". In addition to the letter, stating that my complaint and comments were already forwarded to the owner of that franchise and the day manager of that store, they included nine (9) coupons for free premium sandwich meals.
I appreciate the free meal coupons (which I won't use; I only like their fish fillet sandwich, no soda, no fries) but I sincerely hope that no one mistakenly keyed my comments in as a complaint about this store or its employees.
That being said, if anyone wants to drop by my office around noon, lunch is on me. Guess where we're going?
This was made for me by a very special and talented friend. Anyone who knows her work will recognize her distinctive style immediately.
His name is Tommy the Zombie Turtle. I will post more about him as I get to know him.

That's awesome!
He would make a great avatar!
LOL! That's adorable! :)
I'm absolutely brilliant this morning. I have a mild case of eczema under my mustache. When I don't keep it moisturized it flakes (yes, it looks like my upper lip has a bad case of dandruff).
I keep a tube of hydrocortisone cream in my desk for when it gets dry and itchy and it's about to start flaking. I was working on a report this morning and I see a few telltale flakes on my keyboard. Wanting to head off the eczema, I grab a tube out of my desk, twist off the cap and apply a dab to my mustache and try to rub it in with my finger. I get it pretty well worked in when I notice a couple of things:
One, the cream is stiffer that I remembered it to be;
Two, my upper lip begins to tingle; and
Three, suddenly my mustache is minty fresh.
Yes, I grabbed toothpaste instead of the cream. And I'm having a devil of a time trying to get it out of my mustache now that I've worked it in.
I guess it could have been worse; I could have brushed by teeth with hydrocortisone cream.

Wow! LOL
I have noticed that a good deal of men with mustaches have the lip dandruff problem, is that just because they don't treat the hair on their face the same as the hair anywhere else?
LMAO!!! Wow.
I hope that the eczema gets better soon. It sucks! One summer, my nephew had that happen to him so bad that he looked like he'd been makin' out with a clown. Lol.
*big hugs*
LOL
Time to trim it down so you can really moisturize.
I've dealt with eczema my whole life - mostly my hands, but occasionally other areas like my eye lids. I've lived my whole life needing a prescription to keep it in check. Heavy steroidal cream - probably not very good for long term use, and I've been using it since I was 4.
Recently I've decided I just don't want it anymore. A holistic practitioner suggested that the skin eruptions might be something trying to exit the body and the steroid has just been pushing it back in for years. So I'm giving my skin a chance to actually heal. I've been moisturizing heavily with a high glycerin content moisturizer to keep it under control, but otherwise just letting it go.
My skin is actually in better shape now after a few months of doing that - even with the dry, winter air.
Just relating... and empathizing. I know how it is.
Hahaha! Sowwy..

Again, and again it seems to be an international fault that people don't read things through! How frustrating that can be.

I'm doing a retail course at the moment and a lot of the people in it are previous workers from McDonalds. Apparently for things like armed robbery ("Gimmie all your buns and a large fries!"), they're easy targets because most of the staff (98%) are teenagers, and seen as "weak".
I think the same reasoning would apply to people who are having a shitty day and need to vent at someone. Teenager = fresh meat.
The induction day for McDonalds is quite extensive (the day they first start work and get a lot of training), and they learn how to deal with people's crap.
It's the mark of a good manager, and a good employee. :)
