The call came in late last night...
...breathless, I sensed the sadness... some anger... but mostly, the fear.
There is a lot to be afraid of... for a city and region that has skirted this disaster for so long, now faces a second menace in just a few years time.
My thoughts are with those traveling today to escape the storm... my hopes surround them, that they have homes, and offices, and their loved ones to return to.
We, as humans, always bounce back. Nature always bounces back. That is the way of evolution; human nature... life itself.
Be safe, all of you. My special friends... and when it is over, we will be here for you when you need us.
And to take from his lover
Every stitch of soul, so cruel
All the passion she can muster
Yet he is the one that plays the fool
Boldly you shine
A beacon of light
Radiating out
With passion
Heating those who
Stand in your glory
Illuminating those who
Seek your enlightenment
The huntress
We
Merely dogs at your feet
Sniffing at the ground
Waiting for you to
Bestow your morsels upon us
You are seen in the high regard
As we can only look up
To catch a glimpse of your splendor
As you boldly shine
In the darkness
Our lives
So distant
The star in the night sky
A point of light
Illumination
A billion years old
Your light has travelled
To reach us
To enrich our lives
As you have wanted it to be seen
But behind the light
Your star
So young and immature
In the eons passed
The galaxies and heavenly bodies
That have been here long before you
Shinning their light
Wandering the sky
Just as you do now
To find a path
That you haven’t seen
Past your own light

Gorgeous
Wow... just amazing.
I forgot to title it...
...drat.
Why are logistics such an issue for Brad?
Ok, I'll forgive him for missing the fact I actually do have account work to do next week... it is on the schedule although he insisted it wasn't, but people make mistakes... it's an oversight.. no biggie.
But why does he take an account from a tech it has been assigned to, to give it to another tech when the first tech isn't traveling, then assign someone else a job that has them running in 4 different directions in 3 days, then take give an assignment to the first tech that should have had the original job, then call me and ask me to fly to Texas because I'm the last resort?
I'm going to buy him a fucking map for his birthday... I will lay it out with international and regional airports all identified and color coded by their ease of traveling to and from...
I will include the state abbreviations (and Canadian Provincial Abbreviations) so he stops sending techs to California when the job is in Canada... time zone listings... a key that will give him an idea of how long it takes to drive from one place to another... maybe a listing of nautical distances between cities...
..then he'll need a calendar with Saturdays and Sundays cut off because he needs to stop assuming these are work days...
We'll have to teach him how to use Google to find account information like, addresses... so he doesn't assume things like Stormont Vail Hospital is in Vail, Colorado when it's actually in Topeka, Kansas.
I'll also need to provide him with an IRS document that described in detail the differences between "employees" (which none of us are) and "Independent Contractors" (which, technically, all of us are).
I figure at the end of the day, his home office will look like a NORAD control room...
...maybe if he gets too distracted playing Tic-Tac-Toe he'll just forget to do his job completely and our lives will normalize again.
Global Thermo-nuclear War, anyone?

Wow. Brad sounds exactly like one of my clients.
Reading your journal I have come to the conclusion that Brad must die!

The gleaming blue mug
With a golden design
The bamboo sticks
Used as we dine
A conveyence over water
Seventy six thousand steps
And a trip to remember
In the most southern of depths
The pictures to remind us
And the clothes that we lay
In a closet with our memories
Still to this day
From travel in the hopes
Of refreshing our souls
And joining others who ventured
Southward with the same goals
But we take away only memories
And this mug and bamboo
Thinking of another day
When we might make memories with you...
Sloppy poetry, granted, but there is something in there for someone... ;)

I don't think it's sloppy at all. It's beautiful, especially
" A conveyance over water

I love the sound of the words when I read it aloud. It's lively and dances along.
It's beautiful as always hon. :D
Lines 13 and 14 called to me...
Oh crap.. now I have to count the lines...
Oh.. and that picture could never be the same twice...
...literally.
I guess theoretically it could be. But really, how could it?
It's mind blowing.
Too much for my simply mind tonight...
On the second day
Of a time alone
I take for myself
This cup of gold
Filled to the rim
With a dark thing
The aches of today
And pains of tomorrow
To drink to life
And take it in
To let this go
And move on again
Bending but not breaking
In the rushing wind
The deep flowing waters
That tears my skin
Not made of steel
But flesh and bone
That has to give
Under the great weight
Of these forces surrounding
And taking from me
Nothing I’m not willing
To sacrifice to them
Leaving behind only strength
Determination and my will
To face every tomorrow
As my first day
And my last day
My day to live

I have no words. I flatter myself to say I have the same feelings.

That's not possible. Hadeshasflyingappendages prefers to be the big scary o.O
Unnecessary drama... like screaming "LOOK OUT!" at someone who is about to get hit with a beach ball...
Oh c'mon... THAT is fun!
'heard that.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
I was told about seafood in your area by an otter... yum yum... chicken, well chicken like we were served in NOLA is just YUCK.
I need to install a stove so I can make that.. mmmmm...
The chicken you got in NOLA was friggin' TERRIBLE...
Ain't you glad you paid $50 for that meal?
*evil grin*
I would have to pass on the eggplant medley. I'll take the seasonal steamed vegetables.
We take our days
One at a time
We search for a paradise
Along the road sides
And the paths we wander
Not golden roads of
Yesterday’s promise
But roads we’ve forged
And paths we’ve cleared
Not the rutted roads
Travelled by many
We’ve taken direction
From no one
We don’t take the easy way
Because there is no adventure
No challenge
And little reward to the easy
The easy way
Will not guide us
To the promises we’ve made
Unto ourselves
The Earth will be our guide
Our conscience and our will
The deciding influences
Of which direction
We go next
To the darkness of the woods
Or a sun lit meadow
Through a raging river
Rushing with torrents of risk
Or a mountain spire
Crumbling before us
Where the roads won’t go
We will
For this is the life we choose
The only life we have
And we are the only ones
Who know our way

True trailblazers are few and far between these days.
A proud but modest few.

I love you, my wonderful dear friend. Thank you for who you are and who you are to me. I think that's time number 2 you've heard me cry. That's all you get! From now on, I'm gonna be a rock (yeah right.)
I discovered today that the campground has internet. I'll recharge and try to get on to talk to you all tonight. Maybe we could Ventrillo...I know how much you guys love when I press the button to cough.
Everyone has been so lovely and supportive. I had 4 messages when I logged on and they weren't Sentoran stuff. Morri's made me sniffle, but I was brave and pretended it was allergies. How bout them...Saints? ;)
