So many things happening now. I forgot how busy life could be when there isn't a pandemic forcing us to slow the fuck down....
Pretty typical of so called progressives these days.
They'll engage in the same behaviors as many conservatives, and then deny doing what you have the receipts for.
Maybe their actions are just too close to their own noses and they look right over them?

All politicians are crooked, both left and right. The cure for that is term limits, doing away with lobbies and removing corporate sponsorship of those cock suckers. People that run for office should look at it as public service and be paid a fair and reasonable wage for that, not the bloated pay and benefits that they get now.
Actually wasn't talking about politics as a system, or politicians. Just a plain old person who claims to be progressive, but posted a gender-insensitive (and insulting) joke, then couldn't handle being called out for it. She used the aged old excuse of "it's just a joke, it's supposed to be funny" then others (mostly internet white knights) ran to her defense over it, "she's a nice person, lighten up, it's just a joke."
Pretty much the defenses you would commonly hear in the past when people make jokes based on racial, or ethnic stereotypes, antisemitic jokes, or sexist jokes. But apparently if you're a woman and the joke is about men, it should all be ok.
The best way to test if someone is serious when they ask you for something is to ask them to invest first. Even if it's simply investing in themselves.
If they expected you do just do everything, and what they asked would be no cost, no effort on their part, they will immediately ghost when you say, "Sure, but you'll have to have/do these things before I can start...."
*POOF*
Vanish.
You have such interesting stories.
All I have for a response to them is.... "No you didn't."
When you're on your lunch break, and waiting for a UPS delivery you have to sign for.
And the UPS truck goes by TWICE without stopping!
(insert a string of obscenities here)

I get like that period lunch break or not. Half the time in my area they give my package to someone else and I have to go through the insane ordeal of making them find it or reordering....
Oh, so you think nothing ever changes.
Well, how have you changed?
Be honest with yourself.
You're not a PAWG.
You're barely an AWG.
I keep reminding my colleagues that we're only contractors. We're not going to be treated like real people because if we complain, they'll just end the contract early and replace us.
That's how this works.
Given the extra unemployment right now, I might complain. It's a relatively nice day and my office is still at least 10F colder than the rest of the building. It's almost is if they are trying to make it a struggle to work in there.
Yes, I agree that it is a lovely day for a bike ride.
It's a lovely day for a lot of things.
I'll be here doing laundry and cleaning.
We always have to make tough decisions in life. A mediocre but consistent commitment vs. an exciting opportunity that creates a conflict.
Which do you choose?
Or, do you not make that commitment in the first place?
I don't have the answer that's right for you.
Was just recalling that time I got pulled over by a state trooper at 2:30AM for suspected DUI.
I actually just went out to pick up a friend who called because she had drank too much to drive herself home. I had been sleeping.
Standing on the side of a dark highway, wearing basically pajamas, bathed in about 1000 lights from their patrol vehicle, they acted like complete assholes. Verbally abusive. Barking orders. Treating me like I had done something wrong.
I passed the sobriety test. I passed the breathalyzer. Man were they pissed when they realized they had nothing on me.
They abruptly walked away and sped off into the night, leaving me standing there on the side of the road. Zero concern for my safety, they only cared if they could arrest me.
Fucking cops. I'm just glad I'm not black. They probably would have skipped all the tests and just arrested me without even finding out.
"Your naked body should only belong to those who fall in love with your naked soul." ~ Charlie Chaplin
Someone quoted this today. Not sure if it was meant ironically since it was a caption on nude art, or meant in a literal way that you shouldn't give your body to someone who can't appreciate who you are at the core.
But how many people have you ever known that would bare their soul in any real way quicker than they would bare their flesh?
When a woman posts a dozen new nude photos in less than 4 hours, grainy, poorly lit, and captioned like she's desperate for attention, I'm pretty much assuming she got drunk that night.
I paused for a moment today in my visit. Past memories have been hitting my head hard as of late. I just realized that as of this coming May I will have had an account on here for 15 years.
FIFTEEN!
What the ever loving fuck is that?
I looked at my portfolio. Every photo there is over a decade old at this point. No, I didn't stop taking photos, I just really stopped... caring. Caring about putting in time here. In those early days I made friends here. Not many of them even come to this site anymore. Why update things? Why not just let this live as it is, like some digital time capsule to a life I once had?
So be it.

One of the saddest parts of of being the volunteer photographer for an animal rescue... being called to do "final photos" for a pup that has been given a terminal diagnosis....
....gut wrenching.

Hope it has a "hospice" foster to live its days out and be happy and loved.
Just a foster, but living with a professional that has been doing it for over a decade.
That is nice.
My accountant sent a form for me to fill out which will detail all of my income and expenses, and all the information he needs for my tax return.
It is literally a tax return. I might as well just do it myself.

I felt more busy in life during this pandemic than other times. I work healthcare for it all. The countless over time. Then getting home and trying to do all I had to for reg life. I'm ready for the slow down at work, so I can enjoy myself again. Which it has been luckily.

Not only is it speeding up all while telling us to slow down.... things close earlier which causes a time issue for many people as well! I am so ready for some sense of normality... not a new normality but a sense of the old normality at least a bit!
