Reporting to admins

21:43 Apr 30 2011
Times Read: 1,112

If you think there is something going on around the site that an admin needs to know about, by all means report it. But please, actually report it. Don't send some vague message with no details and expect us to guess if it is actually an issue or not.

If you have evidence to go along with what you are reporting, i.e. - graphics, screen shots, links, etc. please forward them also. It helps no one and only slows down any processes if we get the information slower than a morphine drip...

Thank you.

Oh yeah, and if you have something that the Admins should know about, try actually reporting it instead of bitching that Admins aren't doing their jobs.

I know I've said this before, but it never ceases to to torque my lugnuts when I see another example...

...a photographer on the modeling site - supposed professional artist, simply pimping nude photos to try and get someone to notice his work. And when I say pimping, that is what I mean.

"New nudes of (model's name)! Check them out! She is so hot!"

Really? That is all you have to say about your work? The naked woman is hot? I guess looking at the photos that are poorly lit, out of focus and really not well done at all, that is about their only redeeming quality. Nipples, a hint of bush and obviously no direction from the photographer because she is putting so little emotion into the whole thing. It is porn, dude. You just made some porn. You paid her to be naked, she did it for the money and it didn't matter to her so she put a half-hearted effort into making "art."

And the model isn't even what I would consider.. hot. Eye of the beholder, obviously, but she has the body of a 12-yr old - no hips, no curves and weighs about 85-lbs. If not for the age wrinkles from her (I would assume) smoking addiction, I would question if she were even old enough for this shoot.

I don't know how much she got paid, but judging from the motel room you used as the studio, I'm guessing the photos were a secondary priority anyway...

Hello,

This is to notify you that we just browsed your website and we will like to apply for credit facility with your company. We are into construction, oil and gass business and we will like to setup net 30 terms account with your company. We want to show appreciation to some of our good clients, contractors and all that have worked with us to make our business grow for some decades now. We want to order audio visual, office and computer equipment from your company.

I look forward to doing business with your company.

Frank L. Patterson Jr

Vice President

Patterson & Wilder Construction Company Inc.

Seems legitimate... ha! I will definitely be blindly extending Net30 to a company where the vice president emails solicitations from an Earthlink email account...

Amazing how the spammers can find you, but it seems like all the advertising in the world can't get you real customers at times.

...I don't mean to sound bitter... but I work my ass off every day. So does Morri. We're doing our best to keep a small business running and surviving in a horrible economic climate.

It is a struggle some days. We look at the numbers and think, we must be crazy for doing this. But one of my goals with this business has always been to create jobs and put people to work.

So I get frustrated by what I see. When people we've hired simply don't want to work or go about their jobs in such an unprofessional and unappreciative manner.

It is even more frustrating when people I know that have been living on unemployment for months pass up job opportunities, and post daily facebook updates about what golf course they just checked into, the road trip they just went on with the sole intent of partying or how drunk they got last night out at the bar...

Yet, I work every day not just to survive, but to watch the money I earn float away to the state coffers to pay for all of that.

FEH.

I'm in total agreement. I know people that don't deserve it getting government assistance and also Facebooking about the expensive dinners out and designer purses they're buying. That really pisses me off.

I also don't understand people that expect to be given top dollar jobs or nothing else. Too many people would rather no job than an expectation that's too high. When I got out of the Marines I took a minimum wage job until I could get better. I worked there while I was interviewing for management positions- so I at least was able to pay for all the groceries in the meantime with my small paycheck. To me that made more sense. I had something coming in for those 6 weeks it took to land the better job. I always look at that as a proud moment in my life. People that knew me in the Marines saw me at work and for a moment I felt be-littled in that position while they were working in awesome positions already after being discharged... but would sitting on my ass have been more honorable?

People should work and be proud whatever they are doing. In my opinion all jobs are honorable because it's honest money and effort (hopefully effort, right?). In all that you do you should put your best foot forward and be proud of your work.

I agree with you about people who are lounge lizards and live off of the tax payers, but I have been in the unenployment and welfare lines myself and it's not easy to have this stigmata, as a welfare mama, now I did have a part time job so I was working and paying back into the very system that was helping me (in FLorida if you work under 32 hours b/c of company cut backs you can collect pro-rated unemployment). Any way when I would pay for grocery's people would roll there eyes and make the snide remarks when I would use my wick checks, and food stamp card. Just because of people who sit on thier ass like this and live off the Gov't and tax payers who do work hard.

Now I feel a bit guilty because I was planning on using some of my summer unemployment money for my garden :(

But I get what you mean. My ex was (probably still is) unemployed and kept passing up places to work because of stupid reasons. It's silly to live like that. :/

At least I know that my unemployment situation coming up will be just for the summer. I get my job back and life goes back to normal.

birra
birra
21:49 Apr 14 2011

No, no.. Bijou and Abby, don't misunderstand me - I'm talking about the people who get the unemployment and would rather not work. Months and months of unemployment and not looking for jobs. Like a batter with a 3-0 count is always going to watch that 4th pitch go by unless it's a beach-ball they can pound over the fence. They won't take a job unless it's THE JOB they're waiting for - and watch other opportunities go by, happy to collect their next UE check and loaf their days away.

The country's economy is still in shambles. Morri said it a while back; the economy isn't some mysterious creature that lives in the pockets of rich people. YOU are the economy and when you sit back and soak off the government, you're damaging the economy and making it harder for everyone else that is working.

It's time people start strapping on the helmet and doing what needs to be done instead of hoping someone else will.

The moment I got pregnant working at the daycare, they made up every reason to fire me. I couldn't chase 24 kids alone anymore and I refused to be alone with that many kids that were very spoiled and very abusive when put in time out. So, they let me go.... I had to resort to unemployment because I was starting to show in my pregnancy and no one would hire a pregnant woman here.

Did I like it? .... Not really.

I felt like dirt because I could provide for myself or my baby. I had to completely depend on my guy for the most part, which isn't bad, but I am a very independent person. If I want someone, I want to get it with MY money. I want to EARN it. And I couldn't for a while.

Now that my little bit is here.... I am back to work. :) I actually start back working this MONDAY!

People that abuse the system and complain out lack of jobs out there make me ill. I went out there to places. I introduced myself and I got a job within two weeks of looking. Is it a fancy job with a great salary? No... But its a job. Its MY money. I EARNED it. I can go buy my kid anything she needs right now. And it feels pretty damn awesome. :)

I know a few of "those people", and even though they are my friends it sickens me how flip an issue this has become to them.
