I'm considering calling animal control on my neighbor's dog. Why?
He leaves the dog chained up outside day and night(sometimes in blizzards, frozen rain or minus degree weather with no shelter) and doesn't do anything with the dog except feed it once a day.
I am one of those people that leaves everybody to their own business and I don't want to get involved in others' lives, but this situation is screwed up. Husband and I have nicely suggested that he should let the dog inside (he has plenty of room) but he doesn't listen and the dog pretty much lives outdoors on a rope. Why have a dog if you do that to it?
I feel like I'm the only one that's going to do anything to make the dog's life better (and my own, since it never stops barking at the cars coming down the busy road near our houses).
Guess who started a blog and is writing their first post? Me.
I've been wanting to do this for the longest time and since I'm on break from classes I figured there couldn't be a better time to start writing.
I will post the link to my first post when it is completed... and hopefully post once a week after that. Stay tuned..
It has taken me longer than it should have, but I've finally hit sire on this profile. Woooo!

This page maybe helpful for you , ( Maine) here is the link
https://www.animallaw.info/statute/me-cruelty-consolidated-cruelty-statutes
This is rules for Maine :
(1) An artificial shelter, with a minimum of 3 sides and a waterproof roof, appropriate to the local climatic conditions and for the species and breed of the animal must be provided as necessary for the health of the animal.
(2) If a dog is tied or confined unattended outdoors under weather conditions that adversely affect the health of the dog, a shelter must be provided in accordance with subsection 6, paragraph A to accommodate the dog and protect it from the weather and, in particular, from severe cold. Inadequate shelter may be indicated by the shivering of the dog due to cold weather for a continuous period of 10 minutes or by symptoms of frostbite or hypothermia. A metal barrel is not adequate shelter for a dog.

He already broke those laws...so next time it snows real bad I'm calling.
I felt horrible when the dog was out during the last snowstorm. And I can't let it in my house or go near it because it attacks people
