The Ultimate Vampire Resource and Directory

I am writing a paper on the Vampire Life subculture for my Sociology final. I was doing research but some of the best research is getting people's actual opinions and statements on the matter. So my question is: "What does it mean/look like to be an authentic member of the vampire subculture?"

Authentic is ambiguous so it can range from anything between HLV or those who dress like vampires or donors-etc. How and at what point is one considered authentic? Any statements are appreciated.
