I have (had) three cats. The momma cat is named Harley. I kept 2 of her kittens oh about 17 years ago. Both were black. One was a male, the other was a female.



Fang, the male, died a year ago at the age of 16 from kidney failure. I came home from work one day and found him dead on my bed. I knew he was sick but i couldnt bring myself to have him put to sleep. In retrospect, I wish I had.



Lil Girl, the other black cat, began to have kidney problems around Thanksgiving last year. This past week she got really sick. I took her to the vet and they tried to do everything they could for her. It cost me a few hundred dollars but, to me, it was worth it. This morning, after hearing last night from the vet that she was only getting worse, I made the decision to have her put to sleep. She was 17 years old. She had gotten to the point that she couldnt even stand up and was in so much pain.



I hated to that do but it was necessary. I picked her up this afternoon after work and my kids and I buried her and had a lil ceremony for her. The vet said cats dont usually live that long so its a great accomplishment that she did. But, doing the math, Ive had those two cats almost half my life. WOW!



The momma cat is going on about 21 years old give or take. Shes just as fat and happy as can be lol...strange as these things work isnt it? At some point, I need to update my profile about my cats but right now Im not up to it. Strange how an animal can mean so much to people isnt it?



RIP lil girl

Well, a few days ago I had a bump form on my thigh. I didnt think anything of it at the time till it started to turn black and ooze (gross I know lol). I called and called my doctor and never got an answer so when I got off work yesterday and picked my kids up from the school dance, I went straight to the doctors office. It would seem that I was bitten more than once by a brown recluse spider. I must say...ow, it is painful beyond words. Im on antibiotics and have to sit in a tub of hot water twice a day with epsom salt and a touch of clorox to draw the infection out. What I'm wondering about is where in the flip I at to get bitten by a brown recluse. I guess its time to do some research on them and find out more information...if I can stay awake that long lol...seems the antibiotics make me reallyyyyyyy sleepy.

Brown recluses will normally hide out anywhere it's dark and secluded. They also like wood.. a lot...

Most of them you'll find hiding up against the foundation of houses because it's nice and cool there. They also hide in places that are built up like wood piles, leaves and twigs, old dog houses...

If they get inside, you're pretty much screwed because they'll hide anywhere... in your kids toys, under the tables, in the silverware drawer (found that one out the hard way).. They love beds.

They'll tear holes in the matresses and climb right in.

That may be how you got bitten. If it decided to get under your covers and you rolled on it... yea, that would definitely cause it to bite more than once.

I know loads of useless facts about all sorts of critters. Most of them because I've had to deal with them.

My advice, get your house sprayed.

Oh ouch! I hate spiders. We get the brown recluse and black widows where I live. I had one almost land on my head one night when I was in bed reading. I never moved so fast in my life.
