I am not sure whose idea it originally was but when I find them I am going to vigorously rub salt all over their sunburn!!! Now I have had some pretty bad sunburns in the past…in some highly uncomfortable places, Don’t ask, I am betting you don’t really wanna know the what, why, when and how of it all! Even if you really did, I am not likely to share unless I know you and like you enough to become an overshare bear.

Last weekend we all decided to go to the lake for the day and have some splashy, swimmy fun, we all had a great time, had a nice cook out after and the idea to go tubing this weekend was brought up. We all agreed to it easily enough and I figured I would be fine as long I brought my SPF 100 sunscreen with me. I burn so easily and quickly you see, I don’t just burn however, I blister. Without sunscreen I burn to blister in under an hour. I have never been one to handle heat well, I had my first heat stroke when I was 10…not fun. I figured we would all be around water, easy enough to jump off the tubes/rafts and cool off real quick.

First mistake, I forgot my damn sunscreen, ended up using someone's SPF 50 instead, I know I should have just hopped back into my truck and drove the 5 minutes to the store to get my SPF 100. Second mistake, thinking it would be fine as long as I reapplied at hourly intervals. Third mistake, listening to everyone telling me it would be fine instead of my own sometimes sane self telling me that this was a really dumb idea. Myself was screaming at myself in blaring neon signs that I should either get my own trusted brand or just not risk it. My final mistake can be tied into my third mistake and this mistake was giving into peer pressure.

Well you can guess the final result….while I haven’t blistered as of yet I am boiled lobster red! My screaming skin feels like dry, cracked, worn leather! I am radiating enough heat to warm a small oven and at this point I am probably even giving off RADS. While all 12 of us are all sporting a nice natural red glow…and for sure this is not the worst sunburn I have ever had, I am not sure who I am to be more upset with, my own stupid self or the turd bucket that brought up the idea!!

Ok so today has been a total, absolute Meshuga, I actually think that word applies more to person but even so that would be accurate! I think I have maybe been for a few hours and I have already dropped my toothbrush down the drain, had to get a new one, splattered my chest with toothpaste, slipped in the shower and bounced my head off the toilet, decimated my breakfast/lunch several times before creating something edible, dropped said food onto the floor with my plate which of course shattered into all these lovely tiny pieces, had to pull several of those lovely tiny pieces out of the bottom of my foot, because of course I stepped right into them! Fuddled the sweeping and bapped myself in the nose with the broom handle, stubbed my frickin pinky toe against the couch on my way to return said offending broom, tripped over my own two clumsy ass feet and landed on my bumpkins, got attacked by sneaky, stingy little wasps in my attic whilst looking for a paint roller, tumbled backwards down the stairs...do I even dare climb this ladder and paint my walls...I am thinking NOT!!!!! *huffs*

Can I please roll over and just play dead now??? Lol

Okay ladies time to talk bras! I was chatting with a friend the other day and I mentioned that I threw my bras in the freezer. She had never heard of this so I thought "Huh, I wonder how many others do not know the benefits of tossing your bras in the freezer?" So here it goes,

Benefit #1

Keeping your bras in the freezer allows your bras to keep their shape for a long, long time! They will not stretch out as fast because it causes the fabric itself to become much stronger. Stop wasting so much money on so-called push up bras, you do not need them as a bra from the freezer holds your breasts perfectly and will keep its shape, saving you money.


Benefit #2

It is actually recommended to toss them into the freezer for a time before washing them! If your bras have stains or stubborn spots (anyone with boobs knows that a bra or cleavage becomes a catch all when eating), so keeping them in the freezer before washing will actually help remove those stubborn stains and spots. In fact storing your bras in a freezer kills, yes kills microorganisms that might be lingering on your bras. Some microorganisms do have a high tolerance for low temps, but after repeated freezing they die. Many women put their bras in the fridge or freezer overnight..in the morning bras are not only refreshing but also sterile!!

Benefit #3

Let’s talk about heat and summer…we all know that summer heat can be excruciating for the tatas..no matter the size. Many women have found that tossing their bras into a plastic bag and putting them into the freezer is really very refreshing. Since it is on your chest it radiates a comforting coolness throughout the rest of your central core. You don’t have to throw them in overnight, just a few hours will do. As for me I typically toss a few in before my shower for emergencies. I tend to overheat quite easily so this simple trick helps keep a smile on my face when the heat is driving me to my inner cranky! Even just a simple 2 or 3 minutes of wearing a completely frozen one can make all the difference!

Our bosoms deserve the best! While a bra should be fashionable and comfortable it should also benefit our bodies as well as our wallets. Freezing your bras will not only extend the life of them, it will also do good things for your breasts and well as your general health, it can increase muscle tone as well as refresh, so freeze them bras ladies!!

P.S. Never just toss your fabrics in with your food, always place them in a plastic bag! Or buy yourself a small freezer just for your bras!
