What the Hell is going on in this country? We are a democracy in theory and not in practice. Take the "Obama Care Dilemma". First I must say that yes something needs to be done, but I don't know for sure if this is way to go about things. However I am not going into a rant about Obama Care itself as I really don't yet know enough about it to not make a complete ass of myself. What I am ranting about today is how, it seems to me, Obama is sidestepping the constitution. It seems that several states are protesting Obama's unilateral decision to enact his health care plan despite the fact that is was not passed through congress. What Obama seems to be saying is "I don't care about the law or the constitution as I AM THE LAW!!!!!" Now the supreme court seems to have upheld his right to do so by saying it is a tax. WTF??? Is this right? Can the president just enact whatever he wants to despite the people and congress saying emphatically no? If this is the case why don't we just burn the constitution and change the title from president to dictator? Is this the change that Obama promised during his first presidential campaign? Does this go deeper than the president? Can this be a secret plan devised by the democrat party to obtain and secure control? I am not a democrat or a republican as listening to both I hear a lot of good and bad ideas. However it seems that no matter who is in charge that once in control (of congress, of the presidency.....etc...) all their promises and assurances evaporate quickly and it becomes evident that really the only people in this country that are served are the rich and the powerful. I have said before that it is natural that most successful citizens should rule, but that those in charge must not ignore the needs and desires of the middle and lower classes. I really need to let the present and maybe even future administration know that this is not the way to retain power. Look at what happened in France when those in power ignored the needs and wants of the lower classes. Again I must reiterate that I do not in any way believe that revolution is a viable answers to our dilemmas, but that we must make use of the ways to make change to the system built into the system. However could these failsafes be rendered useless if the people in charge continue to ignore the law as they think they are the law? Well that is all for now.

And starting two wars against the wishes of the U.N is all good?

In response to the only comment left.....I never meant to imply that the Republican party is any better or worse than the Democratic party. What I want to impart to anyone who wishes to read my journal is that neither party is the answer and both have made, in my humble opinion, deadly mistakes. We should as I mentioned remember the French; as when the rich and powerful (I don't judge on party lines but rather on actions) try to ignore keeping the poor simple people at least marginally happy they are more than eager to throw in their lot with the next round of rich and powerful in order to at least hopefully improve their lot.

Again to the person that left the lone comment on this entry. I have not been able to get your comment out of my head. While I appreciate your opinion and am grateful for the feedback I hope I can point out one more thing. The United Nations as far as I can tell is not a governing body, but rather a committee of rulers from many friendly nations that give out suggestions that may or may not benefit all nations involved. I am a citizen of the USA and the UN is not my boss or aside from a few members, perhaps, not a part of my government. I believe that the USA is the greatest nation on this planet and as such should answer to no one but it's citizens; certainly not a committee that if allowed free reign would try to become a unified world government......and that would be the beginning of the end of all freedom. Having listened to all the bs'ing from all the politicians of the time I fully believe that the WMD's did and do in fact exist and that had we not acted the Saddam, perhaps in league with Bin Laden, would have used them against us. Do we back down with our tail between our legs just because they were able to move and hide them? In my mind there is no doubt that WMD's were manufactured and/or stored in Iraq; they were just moved before we could get our hands on them. However please don't think down on me too much as I do realize that our motives with getting involved with politics in the mid-east were not entirely motivated by our safety. No one will ever convince me that oil interests did not play a very large part in our decision to get involved.
