The Ultimate Vampire Resource and Directory

Not many people on here realize what I do for a living. I work as a paralegal for an attorney and have been doing so for many years. It's the kind of job where you know as much as the attorney but live on the cusp of not being able to give legal advice. Which is what brings me to this Journal entry.



I understand that we are in an age of technology and everyone texts more than they actually talk to anyone. There is also a certain language that is spoken in texts and I had the glory of experiencing that back fire in my face today.



My boss sends me an email which contained a ruling made by one of our local judges which he wanted me to draft the Order from. Should be easy. Done it before, no problem, except that is where the problem was.



The Judge actually typed the Order in text speak. Are you fucking kidding me?? Seriously?? I have been doing this kind of work for 20 years and I have never seen anything like this before.



Example:



It iz not ez 2 dft Order frm sumthng tht lks like it cam frm a teenagr rather than a grwn adult. I wuld b up l8 tryng to fig out wht gos whr.
