Why is it that I can go for weeks without someone doing anything to piss me off, then in three days run into every single moron on the face of the earth, each one bound and determined to solidify their stupidity into one experience with me? Every idiot I know, and several I did not, has somehow chosen these few days to make their presence known in the most spectacular fashion available to them. One of them even disrupted an exam to do so. It is infuriating. And I have recently discovered that one of the most uncomfortable feelings in the world is to be bitched out by a moron who is unaware of their own stupidity, and accuses you of being dumb. I mean, the kind of coffee shop intellectual who spouts meaningless garbage to gullible, but unsuspecting onlookers who think it is some deep philosophical epiphany. Then, when you contradict them, they turn on you like a medieval christian on a gay heathen witch. As though you, plebian that you are, cannot absorb the awesome power of their mindless babble. I can take that from a fanatic religious person, but not some dumbass reject on an ego trip. The feeling involved is something between righteous ire, pity, disgust, and disbelief. To think that they believe themselves to be so enlightened, when they clearly have their head up their own ass is almost beyond comprehension. And it inspires such a deep-seated rage, that I literally want to hurt them till they learn better. One of my greatest pet-peeves is people who are willfully ignorant. I always try to keep an open mind to everything, so if it doesn't make sense, I ask. Just to make sure. And to have that turned on me by such an unbearably vapid ignoramus is beyond my ability to countenance. And after the week I've just had, I'm glad I never met this person face to face. Odds are, they wouldn't have one once I was through with them.
