Her pale skin was ghostly white
in the carnival lights
Watching the sights
Of those who walked by
Unaware of the hunger she had
For the blood in their veins
So hot and warm
It was what she craved
The clown tied balloons
Into funny shapes
The fire eating man
Making the crowd go wild
As the breaded lady watched
The strong man
Lifting a small car.
Sounds of food vendors
Calls out to the crowd
Mixed with the ringleaders
As they bid for the spare coin
Little to spare
In this small town.
The noise of laughter
Cheer and joy
Set her nerves on edge
Into the darkness
Waiting for right time
She kept hidden
The night clocked her
Called to her soul
As the dark woods
Just outside
The ring of lights
As the music floated on air
The fiberglass horses roamed
In a circle so bright
She spotted him
And moved forward
To make her call.
“Come to me”
He glanced up from his date
“Join me in the woods”
His eyes meet hers
And she knew
“Come along, for you must obey.”
Heated words exchanged
The first date ruined by
His leaving her with harsh words
But follow her he must
Into the darkness
Mind, body and soul.
She lead the way
Unseen by all
But for the young man
Who followed
She glided over the grass and leaves
The fall colors unnoticed
The death of the earth
She took him deeper
Into the woods
Away from the lights
Deep into the darkness
He tripped on fallen unseen things
His knees taking the blunt
The jeans torn
The scent of blood from
His scratches and cuts.
She disappeared
The gypsy colorful skirt
Gone from his site.
Her voice spoke
A calm taking over
“Lay down, I want to be with you this night.”
He laid on the cold ground
His eyes darting from side to side
Hearing rustles in the leaves
A owl flies by.
He waits for her
This gypsy woman
Of the woods.
She walked to him
Her feet not making a sound
“Tonight will you give yourself?”
She asked
Standing above him
Her long black hair
Falling around her face
Her delicate hands
Pulling at her blouse.
His breath caught
As her breast
Came to be bare
“Yes” he spoke
A weak whisper
In the night.
She smiled down at him
As she sat beside
Taking his hand
Kissing and licking
The scratches clean
Like a cat
With a bowl of cream
She closed her eyes
A soft sigh of pleasure.
He laid there on the ground
In the darkness
The carnal long
Forgotten
She open her eyes
A different shade
Then before
Red mixed
With the black
He pulled at his hand
But only pulled
Her closer
“I will not let you go now.”
She whispered to him
Her voice deeper
The words slurred
She landed on top
Her bare breast flatten
As he hands moved
To pull his shirt open
Baring his neck
She rub her face against his
The need to have
His heart beating
As only fear can bring
Had her bite his ear
The last words he
Would hear
Whispered softly
“You should never follow
A gypsy woman into the night”
His eyes landed on her own
A loud scream
As he watched her change
Her teeth grew
Fangs appeared
Her teeth grew sharp
Her mouth open wide
Wider then any human
Her eyes turned red
Her brow twisted
As her cheekbones
Stood out.
A pain at his chest
Looking down to see her fingers
Grow long and sharp
Dug into his chest
To cause pain
Fear had his heart racing
As she wished
Just before she tore
Into his neck.
His scream grew softer
Come down to a wimper
As even that ended
As does his life.
She adsorbed his heat
The scent of musk
As her throat filled
With the hot blood
She drank and drank
Uncaring for his soul
As she feed her hunger
Letting it go.
She felt the body
Under her
Grow as chilled
As the ground
As she took
All he held
And left him
As dead as she.
She cupped his face
Her hands soiled
In his blood
“With your death
My life will
Be kept.”
She left him
Laying on the ground
His throat rip open
Eyes dead
To the world.
He made sure the
Last truck pulled out
As he paid the farmer
The last cent for
The use of his land
“Come back again”
He was told
“Sure, maybe next season.”
He pulled out on
The road
Going thru town
As the flyer started
Going up on
Street signs and
Utility poles.
He felt her power
Full of blood
As he heard
Her voice
From the coffin
Hidden under
His home of wheels
“Let’s return in
20 years or so.”
The gypsy face
Painted on the side
Telling of your fortune
And life events
“Love, wealth,
And when you will die.”
