Oh, O.K. It's going to be one of those days.

Understood.

It is strange to be eating a mid rare steak with potato chips at 2:00 a.m. but then I have had a shoot and 6 pills for my poision ivy outbreak. Runniing like a steam train. Just glad I had stop for food. Going to be a long weekend. Thinking cold bath before I try to sleep to help with the itching and blisters. Good news it went from waist to arms. chest to neck and chin. Only one spot just below the eye so they did not sweel up on me. Been 3 years since I had this last. On a weekend. With the same treatment after doctor visit.

And let's start the weekend with a cold sore. :(



Worry.



Flat out worry.



Wish I could go on a trip to a wedding, see a person I have loved from afar, respected and enjoyed talks with. I just want to hug her and say "So glad to meet you Doe. And man- you are tall." :)



*sigh*



Add the stress of a large repair bill coming up on a truck clutch...



Worry.

Called sister just now. She has a habit of calling in when I am on the phone. Now- you would think she could tell I am on the phone as the home has a extension of the phone. I mean- she can pick it up and talk to me, and whom ever I am talking to.



She sees the red light which means phone line in use.



But Nooooooo.....



"Yes. I have a ----- and it is about 5 ft. long. Then I have a dinning room table with -----. And the ----- is very heavy. The bedroom? I have ---- and they are the basic ----- but for-----.



----.----



So I called her after I got off the phone and told her to stop calling in on the home phone to the office line when I am using it as the freaking BEEPS make it hard to hear folks.



"Oh? I wonder why you wasn't answering the phone... was you on it?" said in just the tone to make me more upset.

"Yes. I was trying to get some info to book a job... and the whole thing went like this. "You need to move---- and then--- and we also have----- going to the city called---- . So how much?"



Fucker.



I swear she would of flip me off if she had been in the office with me. lol



Trust me- she would have.

Raced back to meet with the Windstream phone company service guy who should have been here Tuesday. The alarm is with the phone line and it had a “Communications” issue- meaning the phone line was dropping. So I call as I really don’t care that they have to send a service man out.



The customer service gal



“We can send someone out but if it turns out to be a issue with the alarm, you can be charged.”

“I understand but as I have maintenance plan on the phones…”

“Let me check.”

“Yes you do. Then let’s set a time.”



I smile. A smile of wonder and love. A smile as in my mother’s great wisdom that she, years later, screwed the phone company. Can’t you see it- a woman who never used a computer in her lifetime being asked if she wanted ‘wire maintenance’ on her phones back before it became common. Before it was the normal as you know- it would come in handy. Before you could buy extra coverage on electrical items like computer/ camera/ phones. Before you would buy that large flat screen and add two years warrantee for a few bucks.



Yes- way before that when a phone line was just… let’s face it… a phone line- My mother said “How much?” And at less then $3.00 a month for three lines, she said ‘Well… you just add that in.”



Little did she know how many times we have ended up using this said ‘maintenance’ agreement. Bills paid in full, in time, and they can’t cancel it. So here I am looking at a man on his hands and knees, basic rewiring the phones as it seems they got a good juice of electrical from the storms the other night… and I know that $3.00 was some of the best money my mother ever spent.



Why? Alarm goes off and unless it is a battery issue- it is the phone. No matter how much they argue, how much they talk on the phone, or even meet up in person- it is the phone company issue. Hate to say the alarm company tech is smarter but.. Well, the alarm tech is smarter. Said it.



Phone company- not so on the uptake when it comes to things like certain wires, interfacing, etc.



Just saying.



Best $3.00 a month spent. These days if you sign up for it I think it is $32.00 a month, each line.



:) Yeap- she sure stuck it to the phone company.

Had to drive the truck today as the driver had to be off for a medical apt. his little baby had. It seems once a month as the baby has a skin issue and it is 100 miles away and he doesn't want to send the Mom to handle it alone.



So- that is fine.



But I am so much out of practice.



And the knee is an issue.



Not so much the clutch but the step up into the truck. As in 2 feet up to the bottom of the fuel tank step, then another 3 or more feet up to the step on top of the fuel tank. It is the top step that does it for my knee. As in it pops, and tries its best to go out. Yes, I am overweight. That really doesn't help the knee when you ask it to take all the weight as you step up that last 3 feet.



Reason I hate... HATE stairs now. As in I will not climb them.



So ice on the knee, trying to stay out of the pain killer. Just need to rest it, ice it, and keep it up for a day or so.

Long day. Got woken up this morning by the cell phone ringing. I am cussing, thinking it is one of the guys texting me, calling to ask a question about work, or needing a ride or the other dozen or so things I get calls for at home.



So I am thinking it is around 6:00a.m. as the sun isn't up yet. Even as I am cussing, the whole "I just got to sleep damn it." and reach for the phone to give a "Yeah,what?" "This is...." alarm company, the alarm is going off due to communication issue. It is just before 2:00 am.



"The what? Who? Is the place burning?" And noooo... that wasn't wishful thinking. ;)



So I answer the questions- and half a hour later I am hanging up the phone. Nothing to do about it but put the alarm on test and wait to call the phone company and report the issue. Which meant trying to get back to sleep.



Which happen after 4:00 am.



When the phone buzzed again just before 7:00 am- I knew it was time to get up. That was one of the guys asking about the job, if he needed his wife to bring him or will he be done before she needed the car.



Came to 3 hours sleep, two hours awake, 3 hour sleep.



Time to call it a day and go to bed. And yes, it isn't even dark out yet. :P
