I would say that a lot of people in the world have probably crossed paths with a shadow person at some point in their lives, and if not, consider yourself probably lucky.
From what I have gathered, shadow people are possibly 3 different things.
1- Demons. Even so-called "alien encounters" are considered demonic activities because demons have something in common that aliens are known for. Leaving marks on the body, and abduction fears. Pure terror for the victims.
2- Vampire entities. Generally, they feed on a subject to either drain them, and sometimes this can be very dangerous, and maybe even to the point of death, OR in some cases, to make you LIKE them temporarily.
3- A spirit. In occult teachings, a shadow is the first form of manifestation.

I was around the ages of 5 to 7 years old maybe when I had my first paranormal experience.
Granted, the only thing I do remember is being scared shitless and running out of my bedroom in the dark,
and banging on the door of my grandparent's room, crying and terrified.
I lived in a small town called Stanley in NC.
That's where I lived out most of my younger years, but something was wrong with that house.
It seems that I was the only one seeing things, so my grandparents assumed I was having nightmares.
I remember that I stayed scared of the dark, and kept my head covered by sheets most of the time.
To this day, I cannot sleep without a light source. I wish I could, but I don't think people understand what I was seeing.
Not even 10 years ago, when the subject came up around my grandmother, she literally told me something that I can't even remember saying. She said, "Yeah, when you were little, you would tell me that you saw shadow things on the wall."
If anything, after all the shadow people visits that I've had throughout my entire life, that validated my first fear.
Then my MOTHER told me that my grandfather got up out of bed one evening to go to the bathroom and whenever he looked down the hallway, he saw someone standing in his living room. He thought that it was a burglar, and he yelled at the "person" to "get out of my house!", the guy walked through the wall.
My grandfather said that he believes that these shadow people are "low-level" entities, as my mother quoted by him.
My grandfather's widowed wife Fran said that, after my grandfather's death, and she was alone in that house, it sounded like someone was there living with her, and she too would see things.
She ended up selling the house and moved away. Now a new owner has it. I wonder what life is like for that person?
