These words whisper ever so gently; filtering into your thoughts

They mimic the soft voice that lives inside your head

you shall never even know these words are those of mine

A tingle of warning is all you receive

A deep breath, a felt presence

and you know I'm there

But yet still do you ignore the signs I leave for you

It is a calling card of death

I slip it into your pocket, letting my fingers run over, tracing your sleeve.

Ah, and now you turn, the animal instincts within you welling up from fear

But you have not to fear from me

I am gentle death

With a soft kiss that your eyes barely flutter against

The light in your eyes, enters my own

Your throat softly breathes its last against my lips

And you are mine

We are one, and all, and nothing

Falling through a dim crimson sky

Darkened tips infringe the once pure feather

Blood ripples upon the ground

Consciousness

Aloneness overwhelms his sweet face

Clouding his celestial eyes

He struggles on without

His weakened legs trip over the ground

He can fly no more



A mirage in the distance

Clear only to his eyes

Dark silhouette saturating with red

All he sees is blood

His own?

A hooded face

White silken arms reach out

But he cannot see her

The concern in her eyes

He rises to walk away



Again, staggering into the distance

His own dark oblivion



He cannot walk any further

Without ever looking back

He sits to wait

All he sees is an empty eternity before him

His eyes glaze over and close

The landscape will not change

He can still see it all

on the back of closed lids



A gentle warmth seeps into his eyes

He opens them

Shocked, finding no change

The world is black

Where are his eyes?



She takes her hands away

Her eyes plead

She too is alone



Do not walk away again



Her hands cup his face

His eyes clear

He looks into her eyes

and reaches to take her hand
