Avatar. Go see it. Just make sure it's in Real3D. Even with a completely horrible plot, it would have been worth it. Probably the best CGI and SFX I've seen in a movie, and the Real3D is amazing.
That aside, even without all the eye candy it still would have been a pretty decent movie. The plot was fairly simple and predictable, but still well done. The CGI and 3D were the showcase, but the story was good enough to hold it together and keep it from getting boring. I actually think that a more complex plot would have made you stretch your attention too far and detracted from the movie as a whole.
We almost never pay normal theater prices to see a movie, we always wait until they hit the $2 theater a month or two after they come out, but this one was worth it to see with a DLP projector and Real3D.
Just.... Ow.
This was Ovechkin's second game misconduct penalty in two games, both resulting in being ejected in the game, and finally getting him a two game suspension and $100,000 fine. But he's made it clear that the punishment isn't going to cause him to change his playing any. And he's supported by the team's coach and owner both. He's a hell of a player, one of the best in the league right now, but that's just not the way to win. After this crap, if he beats out Crosby for MVP this season I'm going to be highly pissed. Crosby played circles around him when they went up against each other in the playoffs last year and Ovechkin still won MVP.

I just posted in my journal about this movie as well, I really wasn't that impressed and I saw it in 3D, it was good but not anything to write home about imo.

Me and Flan went to see it in 3D and we are going to see it again in about a weeks time because I want my uncle to see it in 3D.
I realize most people had issues with the plot but as you said, this isn't a movie you see for the plot, it was the experience as a whole. Just think of how many movies can be broken down into the same elements and every movie becomes predictable.
