Wake Up Daddy

Times Read: 872

This morning my little beasts decided to use my phone. They rang up friends and family while I was sleeping. They also sent pictures on the message system I have on my phone. 14 calls and ten photo messages, one was sent to my solicitor of my empty can of stella next to a picture of me lol...

I was woken at 0815 to the house phone and when I answered it was my son "Hello daddy wake up!"

Lol, little monsters.

I am having probs logging in....what happens is I don't get the log in page so I'm not able to go straight into the RAVE! I have to log into Sci/Fi first, then click back....It doesn't happen all the time only a eight or nine times a day, dam it!

The Famous Warwick Castle

Castle Hill, Warwick, Warwickshire, CV34 4QU

A fortified town (burh) was first established at Warwick by Aethelflaed, widow of King Ethelred, in 914-6. The town was fortified against the threat of Danish invasions.

After the Norman Conquest in 1066, William the Conqueror moved northwards from London, to subdue resistance in the Midlands and Northern England. He founded castles at Warwick and Nottingham, run by his Norman barons. The castle at Warwick was founded in 1086.

At the time of Domesday, 1086, the only towns in what is now the county of Warwickshire were Warwick, Tamworth and Coventry. Warwick had a population of around 1800.

Photobucket

Warwick Castle was built by William the Conqueror in 1068 and was used as a fortification until the early 17th century, when Sir Fulke Greville converted it to a country house. It was owned by the Greville family, who became earls of Warwick in 1759, until 1978.From 1088, the castle traditionally belonged to the Earl of Warwick, and it served as a symbol of his power. The castle was taken in 1153 by Henry of Anjou, later King Henry II. It has been used to hold prisoners, including some from the Battle of Poitiers in the 14th century.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Under the ownership of Richard Neville – also known as "Warwick the Kingmaker" – Warwick Castle was used in the 15th century to imprison the English king, Edward IV.

Warwick Castle has been compared with Windsor Castle in terms of scale, cost, and status.

This is where your wee and poo would go..

Photobucket

It would end up here.

Photobucket

Since its construction in the 11th century, the castle has undergone structural changes with additions of towers and redesigned residential buildings. Originally a wooden motte-and-bailey, it was rebuilt in stone in the 12th century. During the Hundred Years War, the facade opposite the town was refortified, resulting in one of the most recognisable examples of 14th century military architecture.

In the 17th century the grounds were turned into a garden.

Warwick Castle was purchased by The Tussauds Group in 1978 and opened as a major tourist attraction. It is protected as a Scheduled Ancient Monument and a Grade I listed building.

Photobucket

I have around 300 pics of this place lol...I will post some more late...check out the last photo..

St Bartholomew's Church

St Bartholomew's Church, known as Bagpath church.

These are pictures that I took of The ancient church of St. Bartholomew. It is located near the hamlet of Newington in the parish of Newington Bagpath near Kingscote. The church is now under private ownership and features a chancel and nave, a tower with a hipped roof, and south facing portch.

The entrance from inside the church grounds

Photobucket

The interior has been gutted and full of building material, as you can see from the photos the outside is overgrown and now unkept. There a quite a number of headstones for the Warlock family and one in particular being the most recent I noted as being Huband. A few of the graves were just mere wooden crosses with tin plate for the inscriptions.

The design of the church is based on an earlier Norman building and I noted that there was a blocked North door, known as the Devils door. The famous architect S.S. Teulon was responsible for the window arches and the carvings of Kings and Queens.

The approach was dark and a little intimidating and just before the brow of the hill on the right was the church.

Photobucket

South facing portch with no roof or original door.

Photobucket

The Devils door

Photobucket

Some of the stones had been moved...

Photobucket

Hubands grave

Photobucket

Sunshine through the trees

Photobucket

This is the only part of the graveyard which is not to badly overgrown, just past Hubards grave as you can see it becomes impossible to proceed around this way to the back of the church.

Photobucket

East and West

Photobucket

Photobucket

I found out that the church, while talking to the locals had been the site of Pagan practices *smiles* since it has been derilict...I felt great sadness while walking around this church, all locked up and boarded, left to just rot and decay by the present owners.

I actualy took about 100 pictures of this building and grave yard in the hope to....well you know..lol

This is a Grade 2 listed building and a must for me to visit at night!!

Ok, tonight I will be catching up on journals, I have read some already and not left comments, this is because I was tired as it was last night and this morning...

Off to Oldown farm today with the beasts, it reopened this year and had been shut for three years.

Going to Warrick Castle tomorrow, had to pay online because it gets really busy. The price to just see the dungeon is 30 pounds for all of us, I think the tour is for fifteen minutes. The last time I went it was included in the price.

Wednesday is Woodchester Mansion...yay!

I read the write ups on it and it was 50% negative and 50% positive....all mainly to do with price. The total price so far is £71.50...then there is petrol...parking is £3.50.

The walk from the car park to the castle is about 20 minutes...should be fun on the wau back lol

Venue

I have some great venues coming up over the next week. I mentioned that I would be going to Woodchester again, this will be with the beasts.

They will be doing a arts and crafts exhibition next week there, and also holding a mock Victorian class inside the Mansion which the children want to go to!

This will give me time to sneak off and do investigating I hope lol

Will be returning to Berkley Castle as well this weekend and hope also to get some great pictures. When my son was just over three he saw two red eyes floating inside the wine cellar (lol, think he must of been on the wine!). He then cried and screamed when I attempted to go back in with him. I was carrying him at the time. He hadn't been influenced by me at all, honest!

Then we will go to Warwick Castle, this I am looking forward to as much as the others. There is something about old buildings that I really like.

Went to the graveyard again last night and had an interesting time there....some of the local goths were hanging out and being a pain. One of them had scratched a pentagram on the church wall!

They ran when they saw me approaching!I think I scared them...I was dressed in black, and an adult lurking around a grave yard very late at night...lol, I think they thought I was some sort of demon, Bloody kids!

I watched A Long Time Dead which was recorded for me and Wow what a fantastic film.

It' s a story of a group of Londoners who use the evil Quijja board and one by one they are killed by the evil which they released from the board.

It doesn't stop there because it started many years ago with one of the groups father being involved with the Ouija and the original summoning of the Djinn/ jinn

God the unlucky blighter's...wow to be able to raise an evil Djinn/ jinn and not be able to tame it.

I read in a book somewhere that the Djinn/ jinn is just another word for Genie, I'm unable to find the source because it was many years ago.

Please watch, anyone who comes across this video

I play online on flight sim games...fighters and Star Wars..lol...

Tight yeah, you see when I'm sleeping my face relaxes and it becomes loose. My face would get worse, as in very red, the pic was taken just after I put it on.

Lol..Sexy....This has brought apon a new way of thinking now!

Will you do a voice recording saying "Luke I am your father" and post in in your journal? How in the world could you sleep with that thing?

I'm thinking I would have pulled the damn thing off my face in my sleep. :)

I love Jasmine, she came out to play yesterday. She squealed as I plugged her in, causing me to tingle as I felt the touch of her smooth body against mine, I played with her a little and it wasn't long before she was howling like a Banshee. Four beers later and I was howling as well.

I am going to play her more...I promised her.

I never named my guitars! How could I have overlooked this? Maybe that's why they don't love me anymore.
