You and I were supposed to be that kind of thing that spanned a lifetime and let us settle in to the shared experience of death.
Why else would I have married someone who has no want of anything. I love him, I loved you.
I know him, not the inner workings (he wrote those kinds of connections off as "ghey" early on).
You knew me.
You were maybe the only one who knew me. Maybe it was because all we did was hang on each other's words here and there for over a decade.
& Back then so much got in the way.
We both gave up hope and this is the price we pay.
I'm going to start writing to you here, where we met.... Way back then.
If there's anything left after we die, we'll find each other... We going each other through all the noise of the internet.
