My advise is based on my experiences with so-called pro-photogs. I manage a model
named ScarLit and dealt with many of her TFP requests. It seems many men buy
expensive cameras in order to bed young models. They would make ridiculous
requests, like coming unescorted to the photog's home. One had no problem with an
escort, but went on and on about using real guns in his pictures that he takes in his
basement! As a photographer, myself, I ask that models bring only people who
support what they are doing and who will not interfere with the shoot. I encourage
models to bring someone. For my own protection as well as theirs. What if the model
said you touched her inappropriately? I know it is difficult, but you must separate
yourself from the idea of dating your models. This discipline will make you a better
photographer. Models have to be able to trust you. `
Quality or quantity? There seems to be a lot of young photogs that believe they must
fill up there 1 gig cards with hundreds of pics of like 4 poses. And then post on their
sites 90% of them. Most of us didn't have the money to waste film like that, but now
with digital cameras it is still a waste. Don't machine gun the camera like Austin
Powers. Look at the shot and take it with care.
Finishing? Why is it, that some photogs never color correct the pictures. The photos
are not done till the finishing is. Photoshop is not just for special effects, hiding zits,
and smoothing lines. Use the color correction.
Money and cameras?
The most expensive camera in the world can not give you a basic artistic talent.
Schooling only enhances the talents you have. Don't waste your money if you don't
have any talent.
Thanks, I just wanted to get that off my chest. Feel free to join in.
