I have theories of the vampire’s anatomy, which I shall explain in this report. First, they are indeed of the undead. There appearance, powers, and their dietary habits all circle around blood. It starts with the bite. When a vampire drinks, it usually drains the victim of all of this life substance leaving it a carcass. When it does not and leaves blood still in the body though it is not enough to keep the heart running.
This is false. The heart keeps running but very slowly. The average heart beat is about seventy to ninety times a minute. When a vampire drains you of blood, and leaves some, your heart rate slows to about once every week. This implies that one is dead but not entirely. The heart still beating means blood is still pumping, still going to the brain and rest of body. Vampires feed not because of lack of blood but because they do not have an adequate pump. They drink to push the blood they do have through their veins.
When it is not getting pumped the blood settles in the muscles and starts to circulate within the muscles, giving increased speed with the legs and strength with the arms. Blood also settles in the optic nerve, senesces, and behind the ear drum somehow giving the vampire superhuman senses and in turn reflexes. Blood is still going to the brain meaning this being can think much as a human can. The lungs still have the ability to suck in and blow out air but do not retain oxygen. This allows the, we shall call them vamps, to “breathe” in places people can not such as underwater or underground.
The appearance of a vamp is because blood does not reach the skin reducing the pigment and giving them a pale complexion. Eyes being a darker tint are because blood settles in the optic nerve and the pigment glands deepening the color of the iris. When a vamp feasts, their skin turns pinkish in turn. But because of their lack of red blood cells Vampirism is more an extreme case of albinoism.
In truth vamps are not nocturnal and can sleep like any human, as well as eat and do anything a human can. A vamp can appear to be human and it is nearly impossible to tell difference between the two.
Many myths about vampires are wrong but some are right. Take garlic for example. It has a very strong smell even to humans so to vamps it would have a have an even stronger smell, so they avoid it. One myth that is true is a steak through the heart, but if you put a sharp wooden stick through anything’s heart it is going to die. Vamps being warred away with crosses that is a very old myth that is true in some cases but not all. Crosses as well as holy water are religious artifacts, and depending on the religion of the vamp it can have effect or it cannot. If a vampire was Atheist it would think nothing of the cross and not be affected. A Satanist vamp would be affected by the cross because of its religion.
