You know that saying: The eyes are the window to the soul...? Well, I like to think that a person's kismet says an awful lot about the person who writes it. Sometimes, the mind boggles...

Anyway...avatars too say a lot about folk in much the same way. They represent what the person wishes to be seen like...

So...Monkey-pigs, weird but happy toothy men who look like they need a meth-fix, and a creepy zombie thing with no nose...

I have maybe seen a lot of things that I would have been better off not seeing, and I still remember those things vividly because, you can’t “unsee” something.

So here is my point. Since you can’t un-see something, be careful what you allow yourself to see in the first place.

What I saw just a minute ago was EEEW.

Forever engraved on my retina.

This is the 4th day off work and although I've wanted to rest as much as possible, it can be pretty boring too so I've been working on my portfolio...

Charles Dickens (1859)

"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to heaven, we were all going direct the other way..."

[Opening paragraph of A Tale of Two Cities]

That paragraph by Charles Dickens reminded me of something: that all have our own truths. I could tell you mine 'til I'm blue in the face yet you'd not listen to what I was really saying.

Don't send anyone else. I don't blame you for being curious but you really need to be direct with me.

I said my truth, and...yours is for you to decide upon.

lying prone at your feet

giving ours so you get yours

once beloved but now forgotten

is it us or you thats rotten?

bending over kissing ass

will the torture ever pass

or are we here forever more

grovelling upon your floor?

wishing for that one fine day

when you release us back to play

please Sir can you hear our plea

we will do what you decree

it's our one and only thought

that we have learnt our lesson, taught

by you and now we'll show

the rules that we were meant to know

have broke us down and we'll behave

please Sir, we will be your slaves

and truly sorry - you will see

if you'll only set us free

once again to serve for Thee

Ya know, I have been here for over a year and it never ceases to amaze me what some folk define as drama. So, I looked it up:

Drama is a literary composition involving conflict, action crisis and atmosphere designed to be acted by players on a stage before an audience.

[definition taken from: http://drb.lifestreamcenter.net/Lessons/Drama.htm]

Ok...that kinda makes sense now...so...those people who are always in the midst of some drama or other, are those people who find conflict within the actions of others, turn it into a crisis, then act out their 'dramatics' as if on stage before an audience...

...and...the reasons these people are like that is commonsense really...

...it's because they like to blow everything totally out of proportion because they either : want to seek attention; or, have some emotional dynsfunction and it's their duty to make life harder for everyone around them...

These people obviously thrive on drama.

Imagine always being ready for a fight. Imagine always turning something relatively unimportant into a major deal. Spazzing out about the petty stuff...

Heh. Is that not a stressful way to live?

Your inner wisdom is your greatest source of truth. Use it often.

Morality can be seen as the collection of beliefs as to what constitutes living a good life.

Although some people might think that a moral code is simple, rarely is there anything simple about one's values, ethics, etc. or, for that matter, the judgment of those of others.

Am I particularly moral? I'm not sure about that but I do try.

Click here to try a cool quiz on morals.

...and just for fun, here's a cool joke about morals...

Horse And Chicken

A horse and a chicken are playing in a meadow. The horse falls into a mud hole and is sinking. He calls to the chicken to go and get the farmer to help pull him out to safety. The chicken runs to the farm but the farmer can't be found. So he drives the farmer's Mercedes back to the mud hole and ties some rope around the bumper. He then throws the other end of the rope to his friend, the horse, and drives the car forward saving him from sinking! A few days later, the chicken and horse were playing in the meadow again and the chicken fell into the mud hole. The chicken yelled to the horse to go and get some help from the farmer. The horse said, "I think I can stand over the hole!" So he stretched over the width of the hole and said, "Grab for my 'thingy' and pull yourself up." And the chicken did and pulled himself to safety.

The moral of the story:

If you are hung like a horse, you don't need a Mercedes to pick up chicks.

You scored 38 out of a total of 44.

My Results mean:

Your score puts you in the highest category of social reasoning. You will see ethical and moral values as important to the needs of society and will appeal to basic rights or values. You might say "Honesty is a standard which everyone should accept" or "Life is sacred."

Conformity to ethical norms is important to you, in terms of a responsibility, obligation or commitment for all individuals, although you may be willing to consider exceptions in some particular circumstances. You are likely to suggest that with entitlement or privilege comes responsibility.

You will appeal to considerations of responsible character or integrity in others, preferring a consistent or standard practice of behaviour in order to avoid damage to social institutions such as the legal system.

Background

Scores on the questionnaire form a scale that tracks the development of reasoning from childhood through to adulthood about social, ethical and moral issues. The original research using this questionnaire was conducted in the United States by Kohlberg and was followed up by John Gibbs, Karen Basinger and Dick Fuller.

Most children make decisions based on the influence of power and authority figures, progressing through an emphasis upon exchange relationships with others, then on to mutual and social expectations.

Some people progress to a level where they base their moral reasoning on universal values. Others become fixed at earlier stages depending upon circumstances. But recent research has suggested that it is possible to change the way you reason about your social responsibilities.
